I've always loved fonts that include detail inside each character. It isn't a font you are going to use for long blocks of text, but it can work great for a headline or a logo in the right situations. Today's font, Woodcut , has details inside each letter and gives an old-fashioned wild west...

One of my favorite fonts is Caslon Antique . It takes the popular Caslon font and distresses the edges to make it look old and worn out. You may remember it as the font used for the Les Miserables logo. Both the normal and the italic weight are included in today's font. Enjoy!

Today's font is Acid Dreamer and I think I would categorize it as a grunge font. As you can see from the character sample at right, it has very rough edges. I immediately think of t-shirt designs where it could be useful, but I'm sure there are many other uses. Check it out and send me any samples...

Each week as I tell you about a new font, I try to tell a story about why it was chosen. This week my search for a font began with no specific type of font in mind. As I looked around, I just liked the look of the Benighted font . Unfortunately I don't have a great story to go along with it. Download...

I had a quick trip to Las Vegas last weekend to help surprise a friend on his birthday. It was Las Vegas, so I can't really tell you what happened. That's stay in Vegas. But I can tell you that the volcano in front of the Mirage hotel was upgraded a couple of years ago and the fire and water...

When I think of California, I definitely think of palm tree. I also think of a modern look with a few rough edges. The California font has all of those elements. I also love the example design shown on the font page. This font does have a fairly limited character set. There are only capital letters,...

I loved playing with Legos as a kid. OK, I still enjoy playing with them from time to time. That's what attracted me to today's font. Blox looks as if were built from stacking Legos to build each character. The characters also look to be in the isometric plane. Capital letters show each block...

I always love it when I get a suggestion from a loyal reader for something to cover in a future blog post. If you've got something you want to see, I'm all ears (or would that be all inbox). Anyways, feel free to send in your ideas. In this case, the suggestion was an interesting family of fonts...

Are we really only a couple of weeks away from Valentine's Day? The month of January has just flown by for me. When I think of that day in mid-February, I think of sweet things. Maybe it is some sweet chocolate or maybe it is just someone you think is really sweet. So today's font is called Sweet...

I got to experience some amazing local culture on my trip last month to Peru . When I travel, I do my best to spend time learning about the local culture. When I'm back home in Cave Creek, the culture has a wild west flavor. Some would even see similarities to a western movie. That means there is...

Did the royal couple register for their wedding? I just don't know what to get a family that already has everything. Since I'm guessing they aren't registered, I chose Willegha Unregistered font for today. It too is a script font with much smaller characters widths than the others I've...

I found a few fonts with regal names, though I'm not sure any of them were quite right for the royal wedding. Now it is Christmas Eve and I'm on top of the world. My search has led me to Exmouth font and it is a lot more regal than the other fonts we've seen. I know you probably aren't...

For the past two weeks I've been featuring fonts of a regal nature in celebration of the upcoming royal wedding. Since there is a Prince Andrew, I thought that Jellyka Saint-Andrew's Queen font would fit. This one is not nearly as formal as the previous two fonts. In fact, it looks more like...

Last week I started a search for regal fonts in celebration of the royal wedding next spring. Today's font is called Jellyka Castle's Queen font and it is also a script font. It contains some pretty cool flourishes. While it may not be regal enough for a royal wedding, it is still a neat font...

There is going to be a royal wedding next spring so I decided I'd go on a search for fonts with a royal background. OK, so maybe they just have a royal name. We'll start at the top with a font named the King and Queen font . It is a script font with extra flourishes. To me it even has a bit of...
