Cannot import/open .emf files in CorelDraw X3

When I try to open or import an .emf file in CorelDraw X3, it crashes my Corel and the program terminates.

Has anyone seen/solved this issue?

I've seen this with EMFs created in Adobe Illustrator CS3.

Workaround

I'm able to open the EMF in MS Word and convert to PDF then import into CorelDRAW.

I was not able to load into MS Word either, therefore I am thinking there is something wrong with the .emf file. I can open it in other basic viewers like Windows Picture Viewer.

Thanks, I'll keep research and post if I discover the problem...

Insert the EMF "From File" (Insert > Picture > From File); not drag and drop.
