hi everyone,

does anyone know, how to convert vectors from x4 to solidworks 2008 directly, without loosing size or shape?

(the image is cut into many pieces together, unable to weld)

dfx files from coreldraw are unsupported.

there´s a plug - in /dfx tools/ (under vista) but it doesn´t work for me

i´ve found some info on youtube, not sure, whether it works either

any idea, or experience? need for plasma cutting

thanks alot  and good luck with your work

Hi Jadeoasis,

I don't have solidworks in front of me, but when i go back to work Monday, I can look into it for you. I've never tried personally, so i'm not sure off hand.

I'll check it out and let you know what I find.

Hi, There is a new DXFTool plugin (REALLY a plugin this time Smile ) that supports X4 and Vista, please give it a try and contact me if there are still problems.  I would love to make this combo work.

The new version 2 DXFTool can be downloaded from the Graphics Unleashed Media Marketplace

Hi, so are you confirming that the exported DXF file worked for your application?

The tutorials are a good idea, I am still getting all the language translations done for this version.

Thanks for your feedback.

If you cant get the tools, perhaps this will work. It is guess based upon the assumption SolidWorks is able to import 3ds files. Export from X4 in eps (disable the header) and import in trueSpace (vs 7.6 is freeware with no limits). From TS export as 3ds and finally import in SolidWorks. Hope this helps.
