Hey guys Im using the default CMYK plate in my workspace, but I wander why I m having the Uniform colors palette in my Fountain fill window. Even if I set the default CMYK color palette as default, it is only applied till Corel is restarted, I've also used "save settings as default" but it doesn't work.
Peace I-)
seem that you have saved hte Uniform palette as the default palette, called coreldrw.cpl and stored at 2 places:
C:\program files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4\Languages\ES\Custom Data
and
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Programs Data\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4\User Custom Data\Palettes
try to restart your original files

if the values are correct (for example, blue= C:100 M:100 Y:0 K:0) the problem is the Color Manager. Go to the Tools menu / Color Manager and choose the correct color profile
If you read the "How to set a palette as default for all color dropdowns" tip and set the palette as default, then the palette in the image you attached is the default palette you chose.
The problem is in the colors CorelDRAW set automatically for the fountain fill which is CMYK black and CMYK white. So if you choose any color from the palette and then click the "Others" button, you will see that it is the palette you chose.
In the Fountain dialog, you choose "Uniform" colors to apply it to the selected handle (small rectangles or triangle above the fountain strip) to build fountains.
If you want fountain palette, you can choose from the preset fountains and create your own.
If we are not answering your question, you might need to read it.
Awaiting you feedback

Ahmad Ajlouny:Case 2: Your question is why Uniform Palette in Fountain dialog
Yes, I dont want the Uniform Color Palette in any of the color drop downs or fountain dialog, Even when I set the default CMYK plate as "defaut palette" it is only applied momentarily. But after corel restarts I get the same uniform color palette in all of color dropdowns and fountain dialog. I use the customized workspace so I can't reset to the factory settings either, I know that will solve my problem but not at the cost of my hundred of short keys that I've defined.
Aha, "Uniform Palette" refers to a certain palette; I found it under the Fixed Palettes.
It works fine here and I can choose the palette I want. I don't know why this is happening with you or how to solve it, I apologize.
Maybe editing the registry will solve it without resetting your workspace… I hope someone will help us.
If you haven't already, try to set the Default CMYK Palette as default and then saving setting as default from Tools.

Paul McGee:Someone posted the rather hidden solution the other day, to the palettes as they appear by default for gradient fills, etc. (this was probably in the X4 groups).
That option isn't new guys.................it's been around for a lot of versions.
ColorYourWorld:That option isn't new guys.................it's been around for a lot of versions.
I mentioned this option before in:
In the second one, I stated that I couldn't credit the source; I couldn't find the post where I read it. Maybe I read something about palettes and found this option by chance ;) However, if you search, you will find my 2 posts and the wiki I started. In these three and in this thread, I didn't mention that it's new.
According to Aleem's posts, he used this option; set the CMYK as default, but when he restarts CorelDRAW, he still get the Uniform palette instead of the CMYK.
I wish I can help you Aleem :(
An amature's question?
Are you using a Custom Workspace? And if so are you re-saving it after you set your Color Palette?

Anything new Aleem?
I've got used to that problem, just set my default cmyk plate as default every time I run corel. Something is wrong with my workspace
Repair?
Did not think about it, waiting for some problems to occur then I'll repair it.
