Hi Forum!  Please help. I use WindowsXP on a desktop, up to date drivers, etc. Suddenly, when I try to open my CorelDrawX3 icon I get:

"error/304corel/coreldrawgraphicssuite13/programs /erasertoolcore.dll

verify you have access to that directory" ... then nothing. I have tried to uninstall and re-install, and during the reinstall I get that same message again (while using disc 1).  Thanks!

Perhaps it's a disk error, first of all you must run an ScanDisk of your drive C:

Then, try to hold F8 when the program starts

Aleem, it's not legal to share a part of the software, only Corel team can do this

I checked my computer disk, apparently no problems found there.  I am confused about the rest of your message/other poster's message ...? Thanks.

Well forget about that message, Is ur installation disk scratchy? I certainly think so. In my opinion ur CD/DVD ROM is not able to read from ur disk properly.

If all is well with your disc, I would suggest you remove the CorelDRAW X3 Suite Manually and then install it again. Manuall removing applications do a much better job most of the time.

You should print out a copy of the instuctions and read them carefully before you begin. It does involve editing the Registry. If you are not comfortable with that, contact you local computer guru (most teens these days) to help.

This happened suddenly, meaning, after a whole year of using it successfully, to the program already on my desktop; now, the same message appears when installing it. That is what I find odd. I will try the manual removal next; thanks.

Have you run an Anti-Virus Scan for the complete system (often not the default setting), and malwar/spyware scan. If not, I suggest you do so. Be sure to turn off your System Restore before running and back on after doing so. Be sure and check your add remove program for any suspicious program also. Do this befor the scans as well as running a Disk Clean up.

There are some very good vesions of Malware/Spyware detection programs that are free. Even a few free Antivirus application are free also. I am assuming that you already use an anti-virus applicationn.

I am fully loaded and updated, including scans as you suggest, on fire wall (Zone Alarm), anti-virus (AVG), and SpyBot. All checks out o.k. according to the programs. Have not installed anything between the program working and then, suddenly, giving that erasertoolcore.dll error.

Did you follow Ariel's advice?

If you did and that didn't help you need to do a memory check next to rule that out as a potential problem. And a disk check after that.

There is a topic on the wiki on this here. I don't 'own' that page others have my permission to add to it. It would be really lovely to have a definitive page on issues and not have to start from scratch every time.

I suspect you have a corrupt erasertoolcore.dll  file. The one named in the error code. Have you checked to see it if your system has the  file. I suspect it is corrupt or not there. You may need to change your folder view settings so that you can see all files. Hidden and System. When you do the manual remove make sure is not there. The folder should not be there. If it is rename the erasertoolcore.dll it and add a .old to the end (erasertoolcore.dll.old) After the new install check the folder again. It there is a new erasertoolcore.dll file there and you are still having problems or it is not there you have a corrupted or scratched install disc..

When you scan with AVG using default setting, you are not doing a full scan. It can take a long time. To do so Open AVG and click on Computer Scanner, then under teh "Scan whole computer" , select Change scan settings. Unselect Scan infectable files only. Select all other check marks. Your choice on Automatically heal/remove infections and Scan for Tracking Cookies. I use them.

I also use a program called MalwareByte's Anti-Malware. Check google. You can use the free version Download, install and update it. Then run.

Gizmo, when all else fails, put the CD in the drive and run the Repair part of the installation. This should fix any broken links and corrupt files.

well that's the best solution when every others start failing. Just pick the CD and go for repair. But I guess there should be more precise solution so that more time can be save. I have listened about mcts training and certifications that requires 350-001 and 350-018 exams to be passed for it but dont know whether it will really work for me or not.

Is not about your hard disk drive, it seems a problem with your installation CD
