Hi Everyone!

I have a problem here...My old files on CorelDRAW12 were done on RGB color pallet and format and was automatically converted in CMYK, all of them! What happened you asked?

Last April, a virus got into my PC. I just recently asked a  technician to reformat it..the problem was solved and I re-installed my soft-wares and when I opened one of my files on CorelDraw12 to continue doin' my work, I was surprised that my files color suddenly change into, dull CMYK color instead of it's original colors in RGB. I started to look if it was just one file was converted, but to my surprised they were all converted to CMYK.

My question is, how can I convert all my files back into RBG color & format. And what must I do for not to get the same problem as I have now, if ever I must re-instal again my CorelDRAW12.

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Perhaps files are OK.... and that color management is on now, and wasn't before?

Hi Jeff,

The color Management that I have doesn't have the setting selections just like what you have here. Mine looks just like this..

Thanks anyhow.

surely, it's not converted to CMYK... only you see it as CMYK on your monitor because you use a default color management. Choose "RGB" on your Styles list (at the bottom of the Color manager dialog)

it should be noted that your monitor profile should be a monitor profile. what you need to look for is a profile in the drop down menu that has a reference to your monitor name/make in it's title. all display manufacturers have their displays pre calibrated and an accompanying icc profile along with it that's installed in your computer.

The file itself was converted into CMYK color and not just how it looks or the monitors color. From RGB palette color selected to CMYK.

All I can do right now for my files is to one-by-one convert every shape and element to their original color scheme (RGB).

seems that is not possible. Can you attach a CDR file?

you can upload to a free storage service, such as www.gigasize.com or www.megaupload.com and copy/paste the link

There are several ways to do it automatically. One by one? That is crazy...

But this example file should be a tiny to upload for us to see.

If your original colors were truly RGB, Draw won't change them to another color model by itself.

Activate the arrow from the internal RGB to the monitor and to the separation printer profile.  Deactivate all other arrows.

I think the same, CorelDRAW doesn't change the color mode, I believe this is not possible. I'm sure is only to view as CMYK on your monitor. You don't need to change everything converting one-by-one object (this is a madness!!)
