Help needed please!

A young friend has a newish Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista Home Premium SP1  She has been using PaintShop Pro Photo X2, purchased new in May 2009.

Yesterday she did something which resulted in every desktop icon running the Corel program ie that's all the machine will run. The same applies if I try to run other programs from 'All Programs'.

However I could get into Control Panel and was able to remove the Corel program. On re-booting we are back to normal and everything works OK. However if I the re-install Corel the problem re-appears.

Any ideas please? She really needs the Corel suite for her schoolwork, but I can't help and can't find any reference to a similar problem elsewhere.

Thanks for any advice you may be able to offer.
