Hi,
I am trying to import a pdf file. It looks fine in adobe, but when I open it in x3 after importing many of the characters appear as squares or other funny characters.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Hi BestFoot, it's a font recognition problem, open the PDF in Acrobat and look under File/Document Properties then Fonts, be shure to have all fonts installed, Or, open the PDF in Illy and select another font that you know is on your system and save again as AI, EPS or PDF with another name from there.
See if that can be of any help, sometimes with that kind of jobs there is no Bullet Proof way, it's mostly trail and error. Good Luck to you.
Looks something like this, depends on which version of Acrobat.

Hi, Read this thread and specially the Jeff's Post where he is referring to an expensive plugin.
Peace I-)

That may be due to the fact that the font(s) are either embedded as Read Only, in the pdf file, or that the fonts are internal to Adobe Reader and not accessible otherwise.

mmmm, To me the best way to import a PD file is to convert all the text to curves (Outlines) in Acrobat Pro using the flattener preview. Hardly get problems there.
