Don't get me wrong;I'm very happy with the contest :) I just want to here your thoughts...
Latest on my gallery: Cycling and Sunset
Hi Ahmad
I visited the contest pages a couple of times. As you predicted, I visited first few pages but then jumped to last page and navigated back a few pages (with previous button). Randomly visited the pages in between but very few.
Ahmad Ajlouny:Do you think the works in the first page of the Contest Gallery have a lot more chance to be viewed and rated? Who will visit 9 pages to rate the works there?
Wish you all the best.

Ahmad Ajlouny:Do you think the works in the first page of the Contest Gallery have a lot more chance to be viewed and rated?
No, I don't think this is important, at least for me
Ahmad Ajlouny:Who will visit 9 pages to rate the works there?
I see all pages and all people I know that review the iamges do the same
There's a very good jobs, it's hard to decide what job is the best. Hope the best luck for all, and congratulations for all people that send their jobs

That's a good news, Ariel.
I missed your works there...
Yepp, I did it the same way. When I've entered the gallery the first time, I walked though the whole gallery. I didn't rate all, but many, and some are on the last pages, when sorted "Most Recent". IMHO I don't think that most people would only rate the first recent pics. We all want to see what else Users can do with CGS, don't we?

I do believe that the images on the first pages has a better chance of having a higher rating. There are alot of good images there in the Contest gallery and will take a while to view each an everyone of them.
Also, its possible that some of the contestants are cheating, I won't tell you how they can....but its possible!

I have the same suspicion. But hey - every community voting can be cheated - I've known it to happen so many times...IMHO I let them do if they don't trust the liking of the whole corel community, and if their works need to be pushed up artificially (for their ego?). You can't avoid it anyway. If any Powers That Be "wants" you to win, you'll do, without cheating. Every man forges his own destiny, and you can't forge it with cheats. Let them tell themselves lies, when you know what you can trust on.
I wish the best for everyone who doesn't cheat.
We will certainly keep a close eye on what we consider cheating, and the community will only be one of the vote, in addition to the rest of the Jury for each category.

Another great news :) I hope every member has done the same.
Thank you mo.
Ahmad Ajlouny: Do you think the works in the first page of the Contest Gallery have a lot more chance to be viewed and rated? Who will visit 9 pages to rate the works there? Does the number of ratings counts? or just the final 1-5 stars? A work can have only one vote for 5 stars and beat all the others.

Thank you Adrian for your loyalty in feeding back the community.
Do you have any comment about the second question? Even Gerard didn't comment about it...
Ahmad Ajlouny:I hope every member has done the same.
I am sure, every "patriotic"(ahem, in the term of "loyal"...) corel community member has done.
Everyone might have noticed that my entry has many views, and it's obvious because it is on the first page, recent way sorted. But:
1.The difference of views to the same pic in my gallery is not that much
2. I left links to it in the www like breadcrumbs tracks, evrywhere I go
2.I am very very curious about the voting, and two-thirds of the views are actually on me (Yes, i am naive)
Yes mo, you've done a great painting and fruitful efforts to promote it. I find you one of the best artists in the community. I enjoyed watching the works on your gallery and your videos and learning from them.
That was a side note about your entry, you and your gallery. But here's my original and general "feedback" to the community and the administrators, which can even apply to any future contests:

From my personal point of view, the most important is the final amount of stars, unortunately we don't see how many stars has any job, only a rate
btw a less star rate indicate a "bad vote", someone votes as "good" but other votes for oly one or two stars
The scenario I imagined, on 6/7 in the last 10 minutes before the deadline, an unrated entry got a vote of 5 stars. If the count of votes has no effect on the result, this almost unrated entry will win this stage of the contest.
I'm not talking about any specific entry. I will keep posting my feedback to the community as I always have done since I joined CorelDRAW.com i.e. I'm posting here as a member not a contestant.
(As a contestant, I'm happy with contest and the unexpected progress :)
