I am a small business and just started to use coral draw. I have illustrator files I am tring to import into coral draw but they are saving the files are compressed. How do I uncompress these files so I can use in coral draw. cheers
I believe the creator needs to turn off the compression. Also you amy try and open them in Acrobat Pro.

Hello Collie,
I get this question a lot. CS3 & CS4 have compression turned on automatically now. In the past it was an option but in the latest versions it has be set as default. When the person creates the file they need to save as, to save the EPS file make sure to do two things. 1) save it as a lower version. This always helps. 2) turn off compression. You should be able to import it in both X3 and X4. Make sure you import it don't open it.

Hi David
I still come across issues when opening them in acrobat. It will open yet when I save the pdf and try to open or import into DRAW I still get the errors. I will test another tomorrow just to verify yet I think this will not work.

It's CorelDRAW, not a coral

if you have Illustrator, save the files and disable compression in the save dialog. btw, the best way to send an illustrator to CorelDRAW is to create a PDF file (or save as PDF inside illustrator) and open the PDF with CorelDRAW

agree 100% on the PDF rather than eps or ai from, illy. If you go this route every time youll save a bunch of headachs.

Hi, Ariel
I have thought, vaguely, that PDF is the best importing a file to CorelDraw from Illustrator.
but, why? I don't understand. wouldn't It make sence to import to CorelDRAW from Illu's native file format, AI, direcltlly?
sorry for my ignorance, I would like to know, could you explain the advantages of importing PDF, what are the differences between PDF and AI?
thank you
Lee
on the CS generation (CS, CS2, CS3...) Adobe changes the internal structure of the Ai format, trying to do an editable PDF. You can save as Illustrator PDF or as AI when save the illustrator file, but also the AI is an internal PDF. So, if you want to import an AI from CS or newest, you must select the file and choose PDF file format, altough is AI. The AI is for use to old versions of illustrator, such as AI 8
