Has anyone seen this error message in Wilcom e1.5 Level 3? I can't find anything on Google.

Thanks in advance.

This error message indicates that EmbroideryStudio e1.5 hasn't been installed properly so that the connection to CorelDRAW X4 is not present.

Have you checked for the plugin file "CorelWPL.cpg" that is mentioned in the error message?
In a proper installation of the Wilcom e1.5 software it should be in the installation directory of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 (C:\Program Files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4\Draw\Plugins). Is it there?
If not I would recommend reinstalling EmbroideryStudio e1.5 so that this connector can be installed properly.

Best regards,
Klaus

Klaus,

Thank you for your response. I was able to repair the problem by rebooting the PC and opening Draw using F8, then resetting the Workspace to Wilcom. Evidentally the user changed the Workspace and Wilcom will not launch Draw if the Workspace has been modified. I'm the Corel guy here and I use a series of heavily modified Workspaces, so I never try to access Draw from Wilcom. To bad they can't make it work the way it should.

Thanks again,

We get the same error message but we have the Bernina 6 software with CorelDraw Essentials as part of the package. We would like to use the CorelDraw Graphics Suite 4x with Bernina 6 software. I spoke with customer support at  the OESD/ Wilcom and they said to un-install the Bernina  software and the CorelDraw Graphics Suite 4x then reinstall the Bernina first then the CorelDraw Graphics Suite 4x and the Corel 4x should overwrite the Essentials software in the Bernina package. OESD support stated this  fix came straight from Corel.  Tried this and it did not work anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks

James Palmire:
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 should overwrite the Essentials software in the Bernina package

That won't work this way!

CorelDRAW Essentials 4 and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 use the same file format (extensions) for CDR and CPT files. Whatever gets installed latest will grab the extensions so that the applications are assigned to opening those files accordingly.

That doesn't mean that CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 can be simply integrated in the BERNINA V6 software! The BERNINA software comes with CorelDRAW Essentials 4 (integrated as vector design and editing tools).

You should be able to install CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 side by side with the BERNINA Embroidery software as you can install and run CorelDRAW Essentials 4 side by side with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite.
Apart from the file format (extension) assignment (which you can also set within the CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT application) you need to make sure that the BERNINA software with CorelDRAW Essentials 4 has been installed AFTER CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 in order to have the connection between BERNINA application and CorelDRAW Essentials working properly.

I got the same error message when using Bernina V6.  I have corel x4 installed and my plotter software is compatible with corel x4.  After I installed Bernina V6 when using corel x4 it acted like it did not know that a corel version was installed.  Apparently it essentials was now the version it looked for adn it isn't compatible with that.  I went to add remove and used the repair feature for Corel X4 and it fixed that problem.  However, now in trying to use Bernina V6 I get the error message.  I reinstalleed the Bernina V6 software and got it to work, but then was right back to the plotter software not recognizing anything in Corel X4.  I did the repair once again as I had to have that working, but once again am left with getting the error message in Bernina V6.  This is beyond agravating in having spent the type of money on these programs and can't use them both as needed and should be able to. I have to reply on Corel X4 for current business use so I don't want to completely uninstall it, esp. if others have tried that and it has not worked.  Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

Steps to repair the problem with CorelDraw X4 not launching from within Wilcom:

1. Close Wilcom and CorelDraw.
2. Open CorelDraw while holding down the F8 key. This will reset CorelDraw's Workspace to the factory default settings.
3. After CorelDraw opens go to the menu item Tools > Options.
4. When the dialog opens, select Workspace in the left column and then select Wilcom in the right column.
5. Close the Options dialog and go to the menu item Tools > Save settings as default.
6. Now Close CorelDraw and Open Wilcom. You should be able to switch between Wilcom and CorelDraw again.

Hope this helps.

A similar issue might come up for those who use Wilcom DecoStudio e1.5 or EmbroideryStudio e1.5 and now want to use CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 on the same PC.

If you experience such an issue (Warning message in the Wilcom application on startup, saying that a plugin is not found and Graphics Mode won't be available) please take a look at an article in the Corel Support Knowledgebase.

There's a solution for using CorelDRAW X5 and Wilcom DecoStudio e1.5 (with CorelDRAW X4 as Graphics Mode application) at the same time. A registry file has to be applied after installation of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5. Check out the Knowledgebase article for details and the required registry file for applying the changes.

Klaus,

This is great to know as I have avoided installing X5 on the machine where I have the Wilcom products.

I had the same issue with ES1.5 when I installed X5.

But when I copied the file to the location specified and restarted the programs and all is good.

Now I have X5 as the Graphics side of Wilcom, It even has some extra features Yes

Like the ability to tag text as Wilcom text and select font to use as well as Satin or Tatami fill for text. Yes

Very nice.

Steve

Software used: Wilcom ES2 Level 3 (V2.0J), CorelGS X5 (15.0.2.695)
Computer: OS: Win7 Pro x64 SP1 | CPU: Intel i5-2500K - 3.30Ghz | RAM: G.Skill 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz in Dual Channel mode | Graphics: ASUS EAH6850 1GB | Monitor: 24" BenQ E2420HD | Tablet: Wacom Intuos4 6x9

You need to plug the usb dongle (Deco Studio) in for the program to start.

Stephen,

Are you referring to the "CorelWPL.cpg" file?   It seems when I got the error,  X3 was already installed with Deco. I installed X5 and got the error.

Then, I went looking for the file.....    it was still there?   Soooo, thought about it, decided to try and put a copy in the X5 plug-ins folder, but there wasn't one. So

I created one, and put the file in there.    Still no luck.     Restart, no luck....... un-install  X3 hoping that there was a conflict I was resolving,...... still no good.

I need some help, because it seems like I'm chasing a ghost trying to get  e1  to work with   X5.
