The problem I am having is that I have created business cards for clients.  When I go to have them reprinted the colours have changed.

Does anyone know why this is?

You are probably working in RGB and the printer is using CYMK for the printing. Are the printers' colours "dull" and /or washed out ?

Corel ROCKS !

The colour had actually changed in Corel itself?

No, the "colour" hasn't changed but different colour palets to not contain the same gaumet, or range, of colours. RGB has more "shades" available than CYMK....sRGB even more. Your desktop printer / monitor is engineered to output in RGB values and  can print / see a bright red , green or blue that can not be reproduced within the different shades available using CYMK. Outside printers, for the most part, use the CYMK printing colour range (a "standard" since day one).

What format (vector,.png,,.jpg,.bmp,.pdf etc) does the printer require the file sent to them be in ?
What is the colour palet being used by the outside printer?

Once that information is known, help can be given towards the conversion needed.

Can you post a copy of one of the business cards effected ?

Not only that, but different systems will interpret the colors differently as well.  We will get PANTONE-defined colors and enter those numbers to get the right hue and when we print to our badge system sometimes get a mess that then has to be adjusted repeatedly to match what the customer wants..

Let not the one who says it can't be done interrupt the one who is doing it.

What are your color management setting?

I don't think I put my question together properly.  So far this has only happened to one business card.  Artwork had previously been done and saved in Corel,  it had been printed with correct colours.

Client has then come back to me to reorder the business cards but with some wording changes.  Upon opening the file the colours where different .

I was lucky enough to have a copy of one of the pictures and was able to get the cmyk colours from it.
