Dear friend,
i'm just trying Corel X5 for my pre-press job, and the problem is when i set the color management to "Professional Output" and change the monitor profiles with icc profiles that calibrated with huey-pantone device, everything OK until the huey will make a new icc monitor profiles to compensate the light ambient, it will change the icc monitor constantly, and the X5 will crash, it never happen with X4, or X3, i use Win 7 ultimate, 4GB RAM / i5-750, maybe someone had problem like this and have a way to solve it, because after crash x5 won't start again except i press F8 to make default setting on it
Thank U and GBU
Hello Royce,
I can not duplicate this issue on my Windows 7 machine. I have the Huey Pro with both Draw and Paint open as well as multiple documents. I am able to use the "Adjust for Room Light Now" option and see the effect of the adjustment live in Draw and Paint without any crashes.
Can you please post a screenshot of your Default Color Management settings? Also, what type of objects do you have open in your document when the crash occurs? Any other conditions that you can think of that may cause the issue would be helpful.
Thanks,Matt
Don't do what I did today and profile with Draw open (minimised) as it won't reload the screen profile until you restart Draw.

That makes sense since we only look for installed monitor profiles on launch. If we detect it we use it.. even if it changes. But if its crashing when it changes that is something that concerns me. I haven't been able to duplicate that particular issue though.

Hi Matt,
this is color management setting are i always use to match my pre-press job, in X4 this setting works fine with huey and light compensation "ON"
and sometimes i change the RGB Profile with huey profile it's doesn't matter in X4, but it will not work in X5, except the light compensation are set in "OFF"
The crash will happen, as well as starting make a new document, so even i never reach the document it self, or open the document as the draw start, the crash will happen. I never figure it out 'cause i'm using huey since X3 thus X4 it never happen, but i still don't get it, you use Huey Pro it works fine ? but i'm use regular Huey it crash, and i guess huey and huey pro have a same working sequence, the difference is huey pro had a better result because have an improvement on the hardware so can make a better accuracy to simulate CMYK color on monitor
Ah.. you posted in the Draw X5 forum so I assumed you were using X5. I was not aware of any such issues with Huey in X4, but it may be Win7 specific as X4 was released prior to Win 7. I can investigate, but I would suggest upgrading to X5 as there has been a large effort to improve color management in that version and it was designed to work with Win 7.
I've been using a Huey Pro for quite a while now without problem (including with X4 on Win7).

No..no.. i've been using x5 before, 'cause always crash with color profile, so i'm uninstalled, back work with X4 and work smoothly in X4 with huey on this setting, the pictures that i've attach in this forum it's correct fr X4 but, i've did this setting on X5 and didn't work .. that's what i'm mean. I already uninstall the X5' when i'm start this thread..,that's why i just put the picture of X4 color management setting, just to figure it out setting of the X5 that i've try..
this is my setting in corel X5
after that - works - done - close the programs, and restart ..... tha ra..........
That's what i mean :)
No wonder it crashes.
In CM you load the RGB base ICC. Adobe 1998 or one of the other RGB profiles
The Screen Profile is loaded in the Windows OS, usually done automatically when you profile the screen. CM reads the profile from that location.
