Let me try this one more time:

OK, for reasons unknown to me, the long color palette that extended the length of the bottom the of the page is gone.  I'm working with CorelDRAW 9.  I've done everything I can think of to get it back.  Now, when I need a color, I have to go into the CMYK board and create it, which is fine if all I want is black or white.  But if I need, say, ocean green, I have no idea what the color proportions are.  It was so nice to be able to just click on a color and Presto! there it was.  Now, it's a royal pain in the ass.

Hi.

You could hold F8 when starting draw , to recreate your workspace. The default color palette will re-appear.

or sometimes it got bummped right of the screen. Change these settings and you maybe able to see it's edge:

..or lastly, you could make sure the palette is on by going to window>color palettes. Make sure a check mark is beside the palette you need.

Hope this helps.

Hi Michael,

if I understand your problem correctly, try going to the menu bar choosing "Window>Color Palettes" Just choose the one you want and dock it to the bottom of the Corel Draw workspace.

Best,

Paul

I performed all three of your tasks, and still no plalette.  I like that F8 trick, though.

And Paul, the Coreldraw palette is checked.  Nothing.

Hi,

Here's the default workspace for draw9.

Extract it to C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics9\Workspace and over write the one you have there. You may want to rename the one you have to CorelDRAW9_bak so you can put it back just incase.

Hope this helps.

Kinda hate to say this, but I really don't know what you're telling me to do, John.  What I don't know about computers could fill a textbook.  Extract?  Overwrite?  Uh?  Are you telling me to cut and paste that C:/ Program Files/yadda yadda yadda configuration to the spot you pointed out?

John,

Where do I even find that "Coreldraw 9    File Folder" thing?

One more thing that might be relevant: When I go to windows and click on "color palettes," there is no mention of a "default CorelDRAW palette" - just a a "CorelDRAW palette." (which is checked)

Hi.

Yes.

You''l find it attached to the post above. It's named CorelDRAW9. It's in a zip archive so you'll have to extract it (get it out). Then copy and paste it too C:\Program Files\Corel\Graphics9\Workspace and overwrite the one that is there. Make sure CorelDraw is closed when you do it. When you open CorelDraw again you should see the default workspace with the color palette.

If not then.. there are other color palettes, maybe you can use one of them if your not to specific about the color needed.
