With X5 I had i retro-jump of a lot of years. With a p4 3.0 Ghz and with a quad core the time of response of the print preview of a file of 40 pages is: 7 seconds in X4 and about 3 minutes in X5. Can someone tell me if there is a reason?? Because it seems to me that this time the beta testers were in holiday....

I mean that if you reopen the file after the crash you have a completely blank one page file... Never had this kind of problem before.. 2 times in 3 days.. I know you have the backup, but... :-(

What you say is true, but I can assure you that in 5 years of use of Corel (various version) I NEVER HAD the kill of a file.. A lot of other bug, but at least FOR ME this is a "NEW" bug... Maybe I was so lucky??

No, this is the normal way to work. But if your read the oldest post of this forum, you will find some post with the same problem. There should never have happened, but unfortunately, sometimes happens.

Well, I make the last post only to say that, at least for me, they should work on things that goes bad, not on the "few" that are ok.. Otherwise with X6 we will have trouble to only open the program too.. :-) :-) :-)

Check your system, clean up your temp files (you can use some programs such as Ccleaner o TuneUp) and check if there're another issue (such as another software conflict)

Hi! Do you have installed the Service pack 3?? No, only because I installed it now and from 3 minutes of delay in print preview now I have 3 seconds. And you said me to check my system...:-)  to clean up my temp files... I smiled a lot because I'm a web developer and I use drive image since 5 years ago to keep a system always perfect.  So I waited for this update, because it was clear that it would be come (to a lot of people it seems). Well.. in the txt with the list of updates: NOTHING!! No sign of this update.. Mah... However now we can say there is a REAL upgrade from X4, but, like Microsoft with Vista, more time  should be used to check before release a new product (in this specifical case 2 months :-) bye bye Smile

What service pack you mention. If you refer to the service pack recently released by Corel, then its SP2 and not 3. If you say SP3 for XP then, its obvious you had issues with not having that installed till now.

Do you really think all the issues would have been rectified if the product was released after 2 months. IMO the product will not come into market if each and every bug is to be removed or rectified. In fact its the service pack/update which solves the identified issues. I am sure its going to be a task for the programmers to write an application compitable on more than about 7 OSs, almost in 18 languages, various graphics cards, differing amount of RAM and its speeds and what not.

Do you mean ServicePack3 of Windows XP? CorelDRAW just have a ServicePack2 since a few days.

This is the way that must work allways... I'm glad to see you solve you problem, btw now you can see how the program works... and it's how it works since the first day.

I can't see trough your computer and I'm not a magician, this answer solve problems on most the users with similar issues. Believe me, I not only use my own CorelDRAW on my own computer, I help several users on different countries. If hundred of user print their works on a few seconds and only you takes minutes... what must I think? 99% works fine by mistake? No, the smart answer is that you must have something different on your systemor it's about your printer, for example.

Of course, we know that some people have problems, and all we try the best as possible to help others (I don't receive money for this). For example, some people said that can't install X5. What do you think about this? It's an X5 bug? well, perhaps if most of the users have the same problem. But, if almost all can install the program, and only a few users can't do it... wich is the most probable answer? a local conflict with other software or hardware.

No, sorry I mean SP2 for corel  :-)

I'm not the only that take some time to print preview.. If you look up.. :-) But now it's all ok.. Magic???

Two computer test.. X5 without sp2 and 2 minutes after we installed SP2 for Corel.. From 3 minutes to 3 seconds of delay.. This is my report..

The only thing I can say is that a bug (big for me) there was, but not mentioned in the update list.. For me 2 months of terror any time I had a preview of my big big files.. But now I have a very big improvement over X4 too and I'm very happy of a program that for me has a lot of feature very very useful (more than illustrator..)
