Installation: OS: XP Prof., SP3/  Coreldraw X5 SP1 (Build 588), german version

I have tried to import several pdf files, X5 crashs.  I have reseted X5 with F8 during restart, still the same behaviour. I have deleted X5 totally from the PC, cleaned registry etc., reinstalled X5 and SP1- same behaviour. By the way X4 is installed on the same PC. There no problem at all.

Finally, I was able to narrow down the problem to text:

1. I have created a cdr file with graphic i.e. only one box, export pdf, reimport in a new empty sheet - everything ok.

 2. I have created a cdr file with text i.e just one word, export pdf, reimport as text or as curve in a new empty sheet – crash immediately (sometimes before crashing I got an error message: unexpected condition #5002-D:/WALDO/V1500/Engines/crlutl/Listman-...).

 Any hints?

Not much help but your test file works fine here. Import or Open, via dialog or drag and drop, text or curves, they all work fine.

Windows 7 here though, but that shouldn't make any difference.

Corel CGS X5 SP1  (588) on a Windows XP MediaCenter edition (SP3)

Dragged and dropped the file onto a blank page... all ok.

Don't know what the error msg you're getting means.

Maybe punch it up in Google.

I tried it (as an import) on a VISTA Home edition machine and worked fine as well.

Ronny and DD thank for testing. I have installed X5 on an other PC. There no problem. So I have compared both sw installation, registry and finaly only the color mangement configuration was different.

I have used "Adobe CMM" as color engine and this will crash X5, when you import pdf.

I use now "Microsoft ICM CMM" and it works.
