I find none of the preflight software to be of much value. The one aspect that all of them miss is overlapping transparency which is a big no no.
Try using a Distiler based PDF work flow and Marksware.

The preflight macro is not what you think, relative to other similar-named items in the market. It's intended to assist CorelDRAW designers in simplifying their art to increase speed and reliability of output. IMO the bonus macros that come with it are alone worth the price of the entire package.

Define pre-flight. Output to a platemaker? We've run into very few issues using Corel as it sits. But that means that you have to design the way Corel outputs.
The macros I assume allow you to design a bit more freely and then output perfect every time.
We think the x5 is outputting to our platemaker and our digital machines better than any software before from Corel.

The help file is downloadable from the product page for those wondering about it. There is demo version for those who want to check out the UI.
The macro is most useful for those who already know what they're doing, as it basically provides numerous conveniences to skilled designers.
One simple example: I used it on real job last week where I had a small visa logo in a print project. it reported that I had some small amount of K in a blue Visa color, something like 4%. The macro found a few cases in my document where colors had less than 10% of a CMYK hue.
My point: the macro does not train people why this is a problem... skilled artists already think in terms of plates/registration issues during the design process (or should IMO). The macro helps identify troublesome elements in a convenient way, right inside DRAW.
Sancho is a serious prepress dude who is a production artist for a newspaper. He knows firsthand what he needed to make his life easier. Many of our macros were initially intended for that purpose by the authors, as solutions for their own immediate needs.
So, the reason I like this product is that it fixes the artwork - at the source, inside Draw.
