I have X3 installed on 3 computers. On my home machine I still have the Beta version, in the office I have exactly the same X3 on two computers (the newest version).

Home (Beta version)

- The beta version opens everything!

Office computer 1 (Xp with only 1Gb of ram and an old and slower machine)

- Opens nearly everything, except some files saved in Corel11

Office computer 2 (XP on a new computer with huge HD and lots of RAM)

- not opens some Corel11 files (even files that opnes without any problems on the other two computers)

- not opens some X3 files saved on Office computer 1

Corel usually crashes while opening theese files. Sometimes it closes, sometimes it just freezes. This happens many times, so this is a huge problem. No other softwares have any problem on the same computer, so this is not very likely to be a hardware failure.

Does anyone have any idea?

Gergo,

First you are violating NDA talking about a beta version. Second, you
shouldn't use it for ANY PRODUCTION WORK. Your problem is most likely that
you are using an unsupported beta version.

Excues me, but have you read my letter at all???!!!

I have the beta on my home computer, where I don't use it for work, but that works fine, while the version I've bought for money not opens some of the documents! I've asked for help with the legal Corel, I only mentioned the beta so that you can see, that that works well...

90% it's a corrupted workspace, I've seen a few times with workspaces imported from previous versions of application. Reset your workspace by starting DRAW while F8 key is held down until a dialog appears, in which you choose to overwrite your workspace with a factory default one

Hi Gergo, I think you may have misunderstood Foster.  If you originally created the file with the beta, it may not open on the final release of X3 because of file format changes during the beta cycle.  If this is the case, saving the file to v12 may be your only option to allow the file to open on the final version of X3.

Regards,
Hendrik

We have seen CGS X3 have problems with the archive bit on files created by other installations of CGS.   Try toggling the archive bit on the affected files and see if that helps.
