Yes, that would be nice. Inside Corel,  not as a separate software.

HI.

Yes. Ariel is correct. We do need a good separate font management software. Me a JDIZ only suggested adding a few additional features to Draw that would help with organizing the current font drop down list. These would let you search the list, color code it, or organize it by type. A relatively simple add to Draw I would think.

As another feature I would like to suggest allowing VBA to access the catalog list of uninstalled fonts data from whatever font management program creates it. Also allowing VBA to communicate with the new (Hint, Hint) font management program that will come with Draw X7. We can start small with the communication (VBA to the new FM) and build as time goes by. Keep the new third party in the loop and open about future ideas in this area.

=> "I agree, this is one of the better ideas for painting. and must be a tool native of the program".

I guess you are right Ariel!

After thinking about the fonts subject, i realised that it will be too much. It will make the program more heavier and too slow to run smoothly.

Fonts are already slowing down our softwares.

As you said, it is better to concentrate on CorelDraw's Main idea. The design and Drawing tools! :-)

Thank you.

Accidentally as i was searching for some Macros at Macromonster.com

i have discovered  "Jeff's Text Dockers".

I guess these dockers will fix our fonts problems, we were discussing about earlier.

I haven't tryied them yet but i wanted to share this here for those who are interested about managing their fonts.

If you have X3, X4 or X5, those text dockers can replace the original with a lot of advantadges and a better control. For X6 you don't need it

Ariel:

A while back, I would have agreed with you. But in reality, the management of the fonts is relative to the operating system and does not seem a good idea to do everything CorelDRAW in the same program. Imagine if every program administered fonts, probably it would be difficult that InDesign recognize the change made by CorelDRAW and vice versa.

It helps if you don't look at it as a way to "manage" your fonts in Draw, but instead as a way to quickly search through your fonts in Draw.  Managing my fonts in fontnav is great and everything, but it does me little good when I'm in Draw and I'm searching for something specific.  Then I'm forced to leave Draw for a second to track down what I'm looking for in a different program then coming back to Draw and having to quickly find that font a second time now that I know what I'm looking for. OR simply scrolling down the long list of every font installed on my system for something I need.  Those would be much more time consuming than a feature that would allow it's users to browse fonts by style or by favorites within Draw.  It may not be a feature you would ask for, but It would be one I would absolutely LOVE!

I picture the user selecting the font drop down list then directly above the last used font list would be a few little icons that would control how your fonts are organized in that list.  For example, one icon could be a close up of a letter's serif. Selecting it would display only the fonts with serifs.  Another icon could be a close up of a san-serif font, another could be a script letter, then slab fonts, then a decorative font, then maybe a few icons reserved for customizable lists.  You wouldn't be installing or uninstalling fonts.  When ever you click on any of those icons it would simply display only the fonts with the style you are trying to search for.

No one is arguing that Draw doesn't have a lot of feature but you were the one that started a thread called "CorelDRAW X7 features and request list" and that is what you are getting. LOL I don't see how what we are talking about would use an over abundance of resources when compared to other features. But hey I'm no software developer or engineer. So what do I know.  I really do think it would be a great feature that many would enjoy.

Design. Big Smile  The Graphic Design is bigger than only illustration, It's a great program for illustrations and drawing, but is not only for illustrations. You can do brochures, magazines, business cards, graphics for web, and a lot of more.

In CorelDraw X6 still there is a great need of the effects real time on screen preview or some alternative auto preview like it had been developed for some presets preview to increase productivity, save time and ease learning curve, because most of the time user have to waste in just tweak and preview to get the desired visual effect.
Lens effects - Brighten, Color Add, Limit, Custom colour map, Fish Eye, Heat Map, Invert, Magnify, Tinted grayscale, Transparency, Wireframe
Transparency tool - Type & Operations, hovering over texture patterns
Wrap paragraph text tool - all wrapping effects
The CorelDraw has enormous effects under its hood and the real time on screen preview is the only key to spill the beans.

CorelDraw needs a new Docker be able to manage Linked images.

This new Docker let you see a list of thumbnails of your linked images

that they are located all in a folder, somewhere in your computer
or external hard drive or USB flash drive.

Linked images helps CorelDRAW to make huges catalogues with hundreds of pages

without crash , also the speed when working will be so increased
.

This do a very light document due to all images that not are loaded into the document.

The final print will be exactly as if the images are loaded.

Enhance the Persperctive Tool to be able to distort bitmaps in perspective.

FIX also the Knife Tool .

Hernán:

Enhance the Persperctive Tool to be able to distort bitmaps in perspective.

FIX also the Knife Tool .

Hi Hernan!

You are right!

  • The "perspective Tool" should definitely be enhanced working with bitmap images too!

- I faced this problem so many times while i was trying to distort pictures in CorelDraw, without the need of running Photopaint.

For example, once I tried to design an open 3-fold leaflet  and place three images on the open spread side of the pages.

I was trying to Calculate the correct perspective way to place the pictures on my vector spread page (folded leaflet) from Photopaint,

and bring them back in CorelDraw, in order to fit them to the perspective direction of the shape of the book.

But it was so difficult to achieve this effect. I run this inside Photopaint and was too time consuming.

As you said the Knife tool must be enhanced too!

  • The knife tool is very "neglected".

- I had a hard time using it.  It should cut on Any area of a shape. Not only on the Nodes.

- A natural curve cutting movement from one edge to another, will be very helpful.

Every time when i draw a rectangle and i pick the knife tool to cut it, it automatically Deselects it and No cutting can be made.

When i do this, a strange sound is coming out of this action. I don't know why this is happening.

It seems there is a bad connection with the objects and the knife.  Hehe ;-))

- Be able to cut group objects as well, without the Need of drawing lines and thenTrim them apart.

- A Knife tool is a cut tool and it must act likewise. When we want to cut something, that means we want to "seperate" it.

I don't find it useful at all  when i cut something and i must also "Break it Appart".   It should do that automatically. Period.

(After all, it is a knife's job for cutting objects)!

And the last tool from this team is the "Crop tool".

  • A "Live rotation on the go"  will be a more customizable tool. There should be corner Handles while rotating the Crop tool, and not only the degree values on the Toolbar above. Also Crop should be in Perspective too!  :-)

And... Because i Love VISUALS, i give you examples below:

The time when i posted this, i was just surfing around at Macromonsters.com

But after i checked these dockers closer, i guess i will agree with you Ariel. :-) You are right.

For X6 version, we don't need those at all!

I Love X6! :-)

The text dockers were brand new in X3, and left much to be desired.

I highly suspect that one of the reasons the X6 text docker looks the way it does - certain power users fought hard to have more information and controls available at a glance.

Their fight was worthwhile then  :-)

Hi Jesus,

Except from this thread post, where else can we check about their requests?

Is there any other website that you can write your Corel  requests?
