Hi Everybody,
We had a foggy day so we have pictures of fog.
This one was done with two layers - a lighter layer and a darker
layer. A clip mask with an elliptical gradient created the dark to
lightness effect. It’s supposed to add depth to an image.

Cool fog pictures, this one as well as the "Khyber pass" one.
May I suggest you add some feathering to the masks to smooth out the edges, since they are now clearly visible in both pictures.
Just a small tip, unless you wanted this effect of course. :-)

Hi Ronny,
Thanks for the compliment -- and thanks for the tip.
I'll smooth out masks from now on. I assume that a Gaussian Blur
should do it since the are a black to white gradient. My problem is that my
eyesight is not what it used to be. I can't see the edges that you noticed.

In this picture (magnified) they are clearly visible as a dark line around the bottom half of the pole, and also to the left and right where the foreground meets the background.

I'm no expert on photo editing (maybe someone else can help?) but I usually just add a couple of pixels feathering to the mask: Mask > Mask Outline > Feather..., or if it's an object not a mask; Object > Feather...
This usually helps to fade out the sharp edges and gives a more natural look.

Hi Ronny,
Thanks again.
I’ll give feathering and blurring both a try.
