When I try to open a 17 MB CDR file, A.R.M. comes up and Corel crashes.  I can open other CDR files fine.

WHen the ARM wizard finishes, I get this message:

---------------------------
CorelDRAW X3: CorelDRW.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The instruction at "0x0065007d" referenced memory at "0x0027f8aa". The memory could not be "written".

Click on OK to terminate the program
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I would be very grateful for any assistance as this is a very important file (I can't open the Backup file either).

Thanks,

Garret

Importing sometimes works when a file cannot open.

Or, if the file is not confidential, you could upload it somewhere and post a link so others can try it.

I just tried Importing but I get the same error for this particular file.

I've uploaded it here https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22430112/figures.cdr

The first thing to do is make a copy of the file using File Manager (Windows Explorer) and work on the copy... not the original.

Do this as a matter of best practices when working with any critical file you would never want to have to recreate from scratch.
