Hello, I am trying to turn some line art to vectored art.  I exported in EPS and was wondering if someone could open this file and tell me if you get as a vectored file. If it opens ok for you.

Please test this Zip File  It should be a princess with her carriage.

Thank you very much for your time.

Yes, it's a vector object (1270 vector objects actually) and imports into X6 very well.

You need to import it using the PS, EPS, PRN filter and select the "editable" option, otherwise you will only see the bit image preview.

I did also check the contents of the EPS file. Definitely no images in there, other than the placeholder preview.

It imports as a vector for me but not a very good vector for line art.
It looks like someone ran a grayscale bitmap through TRACE.

Thank you both, that helps a lot.  I keep in mine to make sure to tell them to import as EPS filter.

I was consider if a WMF would be a better export format. Thoughts?

What program is it being used in, ultimately ?

If its CorelDraw than .CDR is the best format (but if its a lower version than yours, you need to save as the lower version).

If its anything else, and especially if it is primarily a word processor rather than a design program, the user will probably only see the image header from the EPS file and not the vector objects.

WMF is the WORST possible vector format!

I think is better a solid form.
The more defined the image, you'll have better results. A black ink marker is very useful.

Sample dog image taken from: animal pet cartoons.html

This mode does not generate many objects. Only Black and White was used.

The more I know, the more I believe in God.

Actually it would be going in my store so any vector software might be used. I had one request for the art vectored and figured I add them to my store to see if there was any real interest or just the one person. I offer commercial use and resale art. http://www.poserclipart.com/

I agree, and this might not be a workable idea to offer them vectored but I wanted to at least see if it worked for others. It's more of a fishing trip. I got one bit but not sure it workable for other fish. This was the original artwork http://www.poserclipart.com/products/23-princess-clipart-kit-cu-resale

Hi Kimberly!

FosterCoburn is right!

"WMF is the WORST possible vector format!"

- Wmf is the format that people use for just simple cliparts from microsoft.

Your design artwork here is not simple. It is a much more complicated vector art.

Most big Companies that you can sell your vector artworks online they ask for an (.eps) file format and a (.jpg) to use it as a thumbnail sample for the eps.

My suggestion is that you can also save your artwork as a (PDF). Everyone can see the pdf formats  :-)
