Thanks, David.

This is a good list to have. I am equally curious to see the first update as I have a camera not on the list.

I'm going to be a PITA and see if there are any additions as this list was supposed to be updated already.

Notably missing is the Canon 40D. I have cranked out over 8000 images with mine already. I have tried X4 RAW and get pink images with the Raw Image Lab.

The unfortunate thing about RAW is that as soon as Corel updates the list it will be out of date again :) There is no Nikon D3 or the D300 on the list and I'll bet you there are more then a dozen missing overall. That is why I say that for a RAW program to be successful it has to be a dedicated program with continuous development, support and updates. IMHO this is only possible if you don't have to chase all camera types on the market, therefore RAW converters will be the game of the camera manufacturers and only they can build a satisfactory solution to a particular camera type. This RAW game is a losing game for Corel!

You assume Corel wrote all that code. Looks like the dcraw list to me. ;)

Keeping it up to date will be more a matter of will than way.

Rikk Flohr:
I have tried X4 RAW and get pink images with the Raw Image Lab.

There are more issues you haven't noticed yet than pink images trust me.

Check the tint setting it fails to reset.

Make a list and I'll tell you if you have missed anything in the betabug or have added something new.

As a hint you should find >10 issues some minor some major.

And I haven't looked a noise, sharpness or image info yet.

Hi Yani,

do you know if there is some kind of auto-correction taking place in the RAW Image Lab? I can open an overexposed image with slightly blown out highlights and the image appears almost correctly in the RAW window upon opening, with no blown out highlights. Same when an image is underexposed, the image appears as if it has been lightened when opened. The dedicated RAW programmes I have tried all show overexposure as overexposure and under exposure as under exposure.

The biggest 2 issues I see are slow performance and colours often do not appear correctly, especially when using the White Balance tool. The funny thing is, when you do get the colours right - the output is of decent quality. We definitely need a lot more control though, by way of curves, highlight recovery and fill/shadow recovery. At least we have a base to build upon now.  :-)

 Best regards,

Yep all those issues have been flagged in betabug and highlight recovery on the suggestion list.

You mean this highlight issue? What camera files have you tested?

Hi Yani,

am I right in assuming that your sample image is showing what happened AFTER you used the White Balance tool? If so, yes, that is similar to what I get with Canon EOS 20D images. The images initially open in the RAW Image Lab fairly faithfully to the camera colour balance, but as soon as I click with the white balance tool - everything goes too cool (sort of a cyan/blue cast). However, if I click on a white object with the White Balance tool, it does in fact appear white, but everything else looks too cool. Really odd.

After dinner (shortly to be) I will take a couple of screen captures and show you what I mean.

Hi Yani,

the attached image illustrates what I was talking about. The image on the left is how it first opened in the RAW image lab. All I did was to click on the girl's white shirt with the White Balance tool, which should have made the top neutral. Instead, the area I clicked on her top became the RGB values shown at the bottom right of my image (read from PhotoPaint after processing). The square in the bottom right hand corner is the actual colour it became.

oops, my image did not attach. I have never been able to attach images in here, so take a look at the image here:

If you have a look at the little square of color you will see something too.

It's developers being chucked in the deep end here and told to swim. I'm sure the work on this is ongoing. I've not noticed anything mentioned yea that isn't listed.

Hi Yani,

can you say what has been listed to date? If it is hush hush, no worries.

I could but if I tell you what I know you might stop looking. ;)

You know me I'm very picky. Not much fun if you ask me in letting you cheat.

I can say that I haven't look beyond the first dialogue. I've not looked a sharpness, noise etc.

I've reviewed it on the slow as computer so I've been critical of the order at which things occur. If you select say Fluoroescent light (clue) then in my opinion the dialogue should change before processing occurs not at the end as that gives the impression nothing has happened.

We spent sometime talking about white point. 6500K is the correct white point to ISO standards but 5500K is the color of light that surrounds Kodak plants. And 5500K is what Adobe use so 5500K it is. But it was given some discussion.

I'll give you clues tint tint but I think you guys should be encourage to make your own findings. K OOOOOOOh

LOL

It was the HIGHLIGHT of a few weekends ago.

Look at what happens to the color in the box for the eyedropper when you pass over an image where there have been adjustments made.
