Hello all,

Now that we have this new place on the Net to share with "corelians" from all arround the globe, don´t you think it would be interesting to add a sub-section on the Download section to download graphic resources like cliparts, spray list, brushes ...etc  We could share with the community our personal resources .

Regards!

That sounds like a great idea to me if it could be worked out. The
details might be an administrative headache, so I won't hold my breath,
but hey, if Gerard et al can get it working, it would be a great
community booster.

....and let's not forget some of those great macros as well made by the users. You can be sure that Gerard is listening and there would be a whole lot of legalese to be worked out.

Keep our fingers crossed.

Thank you for the suggestion... I'll be looking into this in the near future to see what can be done. In the mean-time, you can attach CDR, DES, GMS, CMX and CPT files to the forum postings, as long as the files are under 128Kb.

Oh! yes I forgot to mention macro downloads.

Thanks for studying the possibilities Gérard, I think that a download section to share Corel User resources can be really interesting and usefull, If I tell you the truth I am a bit tired of finding hundreds of on-line resources for Illustrator ( cliparts, brushes... ) or Photoshop ( brushes, actions... ) and very few Corel oriented resources.

Regards and I´ll keep my fingers crossed Wink

I have been wanting this for quite some time. Adobe has a community site just like you mentioned Anna, and it is huge.

Having a rating and feedback option would be most helpful as well. As far as the legalities I would have an agreement for all downloads. Users download takes the risk.

Hi Gerard, I tried to attach a GMS file just a couple of day's ago, but had no success, it never showed up.

Hello Alfred,

Alfred:

Hi Gerard, I tried to attach a GMS file just a couple of day's ago, but had no success, it never showed up.

really strange... how big was your GMS file. File size for attachements in the forums cannot be above 128kb.

Gerard, it is not a problem to upload and post the file, the downloading is the problem, when you try to download a GMS file the browser just opens the file and you are presented with the binary code, but you can't download it, this is true for many other files as well. This is why many of us zip files, doing it this way will automatically open a download window in the browser.

Hello Alfred,

I understand very well what you mean... if you right-click on the file and select "Download as..." (or something similar), you should be able to save the file on your computer and not display it in the browser. I know it's not the perfect solution right now, but it's a work-around until we have a better way.

I usually download this way with all sites due to the reasons stated above

I've tried to implement a solution that would not require to right-click on GMS, CDR, CPT, DES and CMX files if they are attached in Forums... here is a dummy gms file (it's actually a simple text file with the .gms extension) to give it a try. Let me know if it works for you?
