FosterCoburn:Corel has announced no plans now or in the future to port to Linux. Obviously that could change tomorrow, but as of today there are no plans.
there's a very big community of graphic designers from all over the world that work with corel X4 and would like to get it to work on linux.
we beg you to find a solution - maybe work with wine or crossover.

Xandros was Corel Linux. Draw ran under that in version 9 I think as a WINE application.
X4 may or may not run under WINE 1.0 if you move some win DLLs into the installation. There is no published information on what is required.
If you work it out we would all like to know the details.
If you look into web history there are documents that clearly state that Corel devoted a significant effort to help the WINE crew around version 9. Corel were regarded as serious and highly respected contributors to the WINE project.
After that what happened??? Corel were 'helped' my Microsoft, sold Corel Linux (now Xandros) and there's been no mention of Linux since.
1 + 1 = 2 2 + 2 = 4
Chances of Corel going back into Linux??? (Lots less likely than a Ventura come back.) At least I think that is a resonable observers assumption.

There's a big difference. Corel is still owner of CorelVentura and is still a part of the software list on the Corel web. Only needs an update or a newest version. But CorelLinux is no more a part of the company, and there's no more support for Linux. There's no way to create a Linux version compatible with the actual CorelDRAW. It's like to develop a new software.

Corel could get Draw operating under WINE they have before. X4 gets a garbage rating on WINE, doesn't install.

It only has 3 votes of need... Might require a log in but you can vote to get apps a priority and you can donate cash.
I suspect if I were easy it would still run under WINE on Linux.
me Too looking the answer for the same !!!
I am a graphic designer and using Corel Draw x4 and Adobe Photoshop CS4 on un-secure n ever crashing Windows XP 32bit. Is there any way we can use these softwares on Linux safely and securely?
As of now (I have not attempted it, yet, and don't have any plans to do so in the near future), the only way to start to get CGS onto a Linux system is to purchase a copy of "Crossover" (IIRC the name) and then get a copy of IE 7 to run under Crossover and then attempt to load CGS under Crossover. I do not know what problems you may encounter, but Crossover is an enhanced WINE for Linux and so far, they have a lot of MS Windows apps running under Crossover, include some versions of MS Office. for more info, google "Linux" "Crossover" "Windows Applications"

I use CorelDRAW X4 and Photoshop without problems, no crashes or freezes. So, the most important thing is to have a "clean" operating system. On Linux you don't have problem with virus and other issues. Unfortunately, Linux is an small market and I don't see a Linux version in the near future
