Problem of CorelDraw 11 on my new Computer, Pixilating of art imported where never before a problem

I have been using CD-11 for years, but recently moved up to new XP systems, but now artwork, .gifs, .jpgs imported into CorelDraw that have smooth unpixilated lines and edges before being imported, become totally pixilated (saw-toothed edges) that make them unusable.  Interestingly, when in CD, and I am in the process of dragging them, they are perfectly smooth, but once I let go they change into the pixilated state.  I can put the before import image .jpg image adjacent to the after import CD image and see the difference clearly.  Something is very different with Corel Draw on my two new machines.  Both have the same problem.  There must be a simple solution.  I hope someone can tell me what it is.   Thanks
