CS3 files must be saved from Illustrator with compression OFF. CorelDRAW
    can't understand the compression.

Thank you very much, now I can open Illustrator on CorelDraw, but some artwork is wrong, need to redo it. Is this normal?

Also using CorelDraw file save as Illustrator format, also some artwork is wrong, most of the time is text, like text a & e, the a & e always become all black, even i out line. Can help on this too.

EPS from Illustrator is the best way

    kumorigoe:

Even with EPS Kumorigoe, the compression should be OFF.
Especially with some rendering/transparancy issues. Illustrator make those differently.
Because of this way Adobe Illustrator make its rendering/transparancy issues, EPS files sometimes have to be sent as PDF to be correctly open with CorelDRAW. You might be able to open the EPS and Ai file, but the rendering/transparancy can at times divide the rendering/transparancy into multy part of curves.

So go for the suggestion by Foster

Thanks for the heads up, Stefan.  I was going off my own admittedly limited experience.

When importing from one programme into another, expect some changes, particularly with complex effects.

Re: How To Open Illustrator CS3?

hello....as told before the best way is to save as ai format (in whatever version you want..i use cs3)* ...

    * with compression off (sorry forgot to tell that)

if you want corel to import even the most complex effects you should go to -->object--> flatten transparency....

than save it as *.ai and import into the coreldraw.....

and you will get what you want....Wink
