    align text inside a trapezoid

Is it possible to do that in CorelDraw? And if I draw a fish and wish to embed the text inside this freehand object, is it possible?

It is indeed posible in CorelDRAW. There are number if ways you could do it. Depends on your requirement. See the attached file.

Thanks a lot. Would you mind saving it in CorelDraw 11 format?

Here's one we did in preparation for an applique design. We used Corel's envelope tool...............but still needed to do some tweaking.

Found this one, too. Again, in preparation for an embroidery project, but the visual may help you.

    Envelope tool.

Envelope tool is very near but it distorts the text. Take this as an example:

    I am a boy I am a boy

       I am a boy I am a

          I am a boy I a

The above paragraph text is created by manually adding spaces. I wonder if CorelDraw can make it automatic (no space needs to add) by embedding the text in a trapezoid

    Sorry for the misunderstanding............

If you don't want the distortion, why don't you try  power-clipping the text inside your trapezoid?

Or better yet, use Corel's text tool for adding text inside a container....like you would when doing class names on a graduation shirt.

Thanks, Diane! Exactly what you described is what I'm trying to ask.

After trying the PowerClip, still the text doesn't wrap... no matter artistic or paragraph text. And therefore only a single line of text is seen and only the central portion of this long text can be seen. What else should I do? Thank once again~~

Like Diane said with the text tool.  You use it like paragraph text.  If you are using text as the container, like Diane did above, it has to be converted to curves.  Then select the text tool and move your cursor just inside of the container.  You will see it change to a box with a "AB" inside of it.  If you click while that is showing, The container is now the object for your text to fill.  You can cut and paste text into it, and apply formatting just like paragraph text.

    Okay, try this.......

Hoover your Aristic Text tool over your trapezoid until you get a lower case "ab" enclosed in a small rectangle.

When the "ab" appears, click there, on the insertion point. Corel will automatically create a paragraph text box that conforms to the shape of your trapazoid.

All you need to do is start typing away and Corel will fit/wrap the text inside that container for you.

Thank you all (including the first responders)!!!! Because you help me refine my questions and give me suggestions to the final solution (although the "AB" is a bit difficult to get what it means...) Devil
