anyone experience getting trapped inside a powerclip. I had several objects inside a pwer clip and one of those objects had a power clip as well.

after enterign the second object to edit the image I did not like what I did so i undo all the changes whcih included exiting the second power clip. Since I used up all the undos (10) I am at the original power cliup level and cannot undo nor can I exit the original powercliup level.

I also cannot close the p[roject becasue I am stuck inside the powerclip

anyone know who to resolve this or is my project screwed

 

 

 The first thing I would do if I were you, is go into the options and change the undo level number to something bigger. 

I would agree, unless you have some limited ram issues, 10 undo's for vector might be a bit too small. I try to keep my bitmap undos more limited however. As for using a Powerclip inside a Powerclip, that's something I've never tried - possibly what may have created this mess. You might want to save the first Powerclip as a bitmap, that way it's flattend and less likely to create an issue and then put it inside another Powerclip (I would save a copy of the first Powerclip if you need to go back and edit).

I guess I don't understand why you can't just exit editing the Powerclip though. However, if you have your backup set for a reasonable amount of time, just wait for it to save, and then open that file and start over I guess.

 Teh undo level is set to 20 my mistake I thought it was 10..anyways..I had less than 15 changes and no bitmap edits...

I was not able to resolve the problem..except CTRL Alt DEL...when I restarted CD I did get the message 'open temp file..but when opened th epower clip file I was working on was epty..error no data in the fill or something liek that..I was able to save teh rest of the project..

ot5he rthan that...seems liek a corel bug to me..not to be able to exit a power cip to the main working level

Just so you and others know, the memory setting does absolutely nothing. It
was included in CorelDRAW for users on Windows 98. Both X3 and X4 have been
designed for newer operating systems for which it does nothing. Corel simply
hasn't removed the dialog box yet.

Remember that any step of Undo and Redo will be stored as a temporary file, in the RAM or in the swap file of Windows. So, if you have a 10 Mb cdr file, you have 50 leves of Undo. 50 steps x 10 Mb= 500 Mb. If you have a 40 Mb cdr file, you will have 2 Gigas of temporary files. If you open more than one file, you can handle a veri big amount of temporary files....

For what it's worth, I got stuck inside EDITING A POWERCLIP and could only exit by force-terminating Corel.  The issue happened when I went in to edit the original powerclip, and because I've set up short-cut keys to utilize all aspects of power-clipping, I'd not realised I was still inside the powerclip when I then put the same image inside another container.  From that point, no amount of attempting to FINISH EDITING THIS LEVEL would get me back to the main desktop.

I haven't tried to reproduce this, but I think the key element is placing the original powerclipped item into another container inside the original powerclip.

Fortunately, the project I was working on had just started so I didn't really lose anything more than 5mins work.
