I'm not well skilled in the movie part of PPX3 and am struggling to find the way to have each image in the movie disolve into the next.  I am presuming the overlay button has something to do with it but when I select ita nd drag the red tags across all frames it still has no effect.  Can anyone please explain how to do this?

Sounds like you're trying to create a slideshow/movie... any particular
reason you're not using a video editor or other software for creating
slideshows? Photopaint is probably not the best app to be doing what you're
wanting to do.

Sounds like you're trying to create a slideshow/movie... any particular
reason you're not using a video editor or other software for creating
slideshows? Photopaint is probably not the best app to be doing what you're
wanting to do.

The only graphics packages I have are the X3 suite, hence trying to suffice with PPX3.  Its not a big thing just 6 giffs that I wanted to transition through a rotation with fade in and out.  Its for use in a website as and animated giff.  If its not possible in PPX3 then will be fine without transitions, but would be interested to know what the overlay thing is all about.

No idea what the "overlay" thing is, but the following may help...

Each frame in your animation is a seperate "background". Layers (objects) float as layers over them all.

Copy/duplicate the objects you want to change, hide the origionals, change the coppies, merge with background, go to a new frame and do it again.

An animated GIF is probably not the way to go, well, at least AFAIC (could
be a big file size and you'd have to manually create each frame for the
animation... and if you're trying to do fades, that's a LOT of frames).
Since you say this is for the web, your options would be to 1) create a
Flash movie (not my personal first choice, though, mainly due to
accessibility issues and search engine issues) or 2) use a slideshow
solution... there are many types out there, for example: Slide Show Magic by
Project Seven is a good tool -

While not exactly a slideshow, Lightbox and Lightbox 2 are effective ways to
show pics on your site in a very "web 2.0" way -

Hey Hunter thanks for the info and yes you are quite right PPX3 is probably not the tool to use.  I had a look at Slide Show majic and Lightbox 2.  Both are really neat.  The bad news is that I am using MS Share Point as my web development tool and it seams SSM is tailored to the adobe products and specifically Dreamweaver.  Not to worry, I'll have another look later on but I will go without fading for now.  Thanks for your comments.

The PVII products are geared to be plugins for DW, however, I do believe
that they can be implemented without it. You might go over to their NNTP
newsgroup, forums.projectseven.com, and ask there how they can be
implemented w/out DW... or look at their knowledgebase on their site. The
Lightbox tools could be implemented manually (since one would have to do
that anyway :) ) since it's just javascript. And my condolences for having
to work with Sharepoint... but if you do have a copy of DW (or just download
the fully working demo, hint, hint) you could certainly do some front-end
work for SP... are you using Visual Studio or Sharepoint Developer (or
whatever it's called) for your coding?
