Failure during importing an EPS or PDF file (Draw X4)

    Hello!
    Please excuse for my english.

The Problem: Even when i try to import an EPS or PDF file the program quits the action with the alertbox "Die Datei ist beschädigt" / " The file is corrupted". What's the prob? Is there a bug in the program?

Would be glad to read some ideas about.
    Thank's a lot

    Matthias

    Your English is fine Mathias!

The error is a bug or many bugs in the import filter. I get that error on at least 50% of the PDFs I attempt to import. Very unreliable filter which still needs a lot of work.

I have had a few which I could brute force access by using either or both Adobe Reader and Ghostscript. Ghostscript to "convert" PDF to PDF (!) and then putting that into CDR X4 worked in one case, which defies logic. Sometimes careful use of Adobe Reader to write an EPS file at level 2 Postscript (specify in both the print driver for a PS printer dialogue and in the Adobe Reader print "advance" dialogue) and either using that EPS (or PS) file in CDR-X4 or making a new PDF using Ghostscript on that PS/EPS. Other times I have simply had to give up.

    Hello Paul

Great! I opened the file in Acrobat Reader and saved it as EPS as you told.
Now it's possible to import and work on it.

    Thank's a lot Paul!
