    cover spread

When working on a booklet Draw allows you to display and work on inside facing pages making it easy for example to add a graphic that spreads across pages.  Is there a simple way that I have missed to display and work on front and back cover pages the same way?

    Hi MG,

Excellent question, I've run into this before. The simple solution for the moment is to design your cover in a separate document as a printer spread, and leave page one in facing spread doc blank.

I agree that it would be a nice feature to begin on the last page for facing pages, I fear many would be confused by this though. I often span across pages, so it's a little odd to not to be able to do the outside cover as easily.

    Re: cover spread

I put of "Show Page borders" option to disable the placing of my objects on desktop layer. Then create designs for page one and the last page side by side. Once done with the entire design I just cut and paste the lastpage design on the appropriate page. For the graphics or the images across the pages, I never keep one graphic spread over two pages. I mean I duplicae the graphic and crop it for the left and right pages.

    Re: cover spread

I typically do my covers in a different file, too. Often the cover is on a different stock or color over a b/w booklet anyway. Prepress people are quite used to this.
