Although not an issue for your problem, have you installed SP1 ?

You might try the "Repair" option on your DVD (I don't think that "Repair" will not effect any custom workspaces like F8 can)

Hi,

Have you checked the Grid. I mean in the field as shown in my attached image. And have you changed the Grid colour to White? As colour white is not a good choice Wink
If you have done "everything", then the earlier suggestion with "Repair" might be the thing for you. Then just insert your X4 program DVD, and choose/check "Repair". That will most certainly fix it.

Maybe you could make a print screen as I did, and let us see how your Straighten image dialog looks like? You just open the straighten image dialog, and then on your keyboard press down CTRL and Prt SC (Print screen) button (upper right area on the keyboard). And then when writing on this post/forum, choose the TAB  "Options" and then Add/Update, and get your image from your computer that way, and then hit "Save".

What video card are you using and are the drivers for it up to date?

Try the same tool and tool setup with a smaller photo and see if you can see the grid.

The drivers appear to be current for my ATI RADEON X300 display adapter. I did try the same tool with a smaller image and still no grid or preview of adjustment.

Strange thing - now I do not have a scrapbook docker. I ran the SP1 udate again too.

Puzzled here!

Very strange indeed. So: you have done a Repair with the DVD disk?
And F8 Key on start. Did you keep holding down the F8 kaey until you got the dialog and then press yes/ok?
And you have installed the SP1 as well.

You then might have to make a totally new install.
Why?

Theie might be something outside CDGS X4, and maybe a file have dissapered, if you have uninstalled something else, or installed something non-Corel. Maybe a small virus, mayeb, maybe... I am confused, because if you have done all the things mentioned, then it should work.

The fact that you say the Scrapbook is gone now, sounds like you have the CDGS X4 without the SP1.
Reason to why I think so, is that when you did the Repair, from the DVD disk, then the SP1 might not be there anymore.
I mean it repaired back to the original DVD Box version of the CDGS X4. Just a thought.

My suggestion is that you either do a repair again, and then AFTER that repair from the DVD disk, install the SP1 again.

  1. Insert DVD and choose Repair (or new install)
  2. Install the repair
  3. Now re-install the SP1

See if this will do the trick.
Sometimes we just have to make a totally new clean install of it all again.
Files gone here and there in a computer can make a mess. They can be lost of all kinds of reasons.

I will try an uninstall and and do a fresh install. I have Corel 11 and 12 on the same computer, also PS CS3 Suite. All were installed before X4. My X4 is from the Beta testing, final version. I never got the box version cause I could not do a lot of testing as I lost 2 sisters to cancer in the 5 month period.

Will get back and let you know how new install works.

Thanks for the help. Hope I can get it working.

Really sorry to hear about your sisters Charm.

The final Gold and SP1 should work together I think. Just a thought, but version 12 I think was much better than 11, so maybe you dont need to have version 11 on the computer as well ;-)
