    Macro compatiblity

Are the macros different from Draw to Designer? I'm thinking of making the switch but I'm finding that all of my maros are not working.

The script language can't be different, but the properties and methods can. You can make a test and open your vba editor, select a property and press F1. See what happens. You can also compile(press play) the macro within the vba editor to check the terms.

Well these aren't my macros. They are the ones found withing the community. I have tried just dumping them into the Designer GMS folder and have had no luck. It is a real shame.

Re: Macro compatiblity between CorelDRAW and Corel DESIGNER

Corel DESIGNER and CorelDRAW share a common engine.

Corel DESIGNER X4 fully supports the CorelDRAW automation interface / commands and provides some more that are specific to the Corel DESIGNER exclusive features (e.g. callouts).

You can't use CorelDRAW macros files (*.gms) in Corel DESIGNER by just copying them into the Corel DESIGNER installation folder. You can use the components and modules instead to import them into a GMS files that has been created in Corel DESIGNER (created as empty text file and then opened with Corel DESIGNER VBA Editor to modify it).

So the first step you'll have to do is open the GMS files in CorelDRAW (where they have been created), export the modules and use those exported files as source modules for importing into the newly created GMS file in the Corel DESIGNER installation directory.

The automation interface in Corel DESIGNER X4 has been enhanced and extended. The Corel DESIGNER 12 macros should all work without the need to change anything.

    Best regards,
    Klaus.

Oh well, I guess we'll be holding off upgrading until we can see if the macro designers see if it behooves them to update their creations for Designer.
