    Corel 12 and PDF files

    Hi,

Sometimes PDF files don't open in Corel 12. How can I fix it?

Are the files from the Internet? You can firstly made with Adobe Illustrator or secondly, password protected.

that depends on the PDF. If it's a compressed/password protected one, you
can't. At least not without the person who has the original file the PDF was
made from recreates uncompressed, no password, and at an older version of
    PDF.

If it's v8 or so (the PDF), you'd need X4 to open it up... or again, have
the person recreate the PDF to an older version.

Yes, but is somewhere any third-party software that converts any PDF version to version 1.3 for Corel12 ?

    try using Adobe Illustrator CS3.
There, open the PDF file and then go to the "Safe as Copy" the PDF version,
but here you can choose which version of PDF (for example, 1.3 or 1.4) is you want.

I use "FreePDF" to "print" any content to PDF with the print command. I don't now if it converts to v1.3, but the files are importable to corel.

    ... Good idea, mo!

@Missee: you print your PDF file again in FreePDF.
If the generated new PDF file is not open, then it is damaged or protected.

I believe - I've got it! If the PDF document was produced with the 1.7 version, then he will be with an older version of Corel Draw not open. More: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Document_Format#Versions

Particularly bad if the Corel Draw while saving no clear listing of PDF versions (such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign). The options for converting PDF are poor and do not provide a clear answer...

Yepp. With that tool you can convert every printable content to pdf. I use it for other apps, not for corel.Do not wonder: FreePDF uses a tool named "GhostScript", it simulates twain drivers for printing, I think...
