Dxf import and save to plt problems

When I import a simple single layer dxf file into X3 the line appear to be of a different thicness, when I check they seem to be hairline. If I save it as a PLT file and re-open it, these lines are now multiple lines.

Is their a quick way to just get a single line drawing from dxf to plt?
