    Grayed out commands

I am having trouble with CD 3X.  Several of the application commands and options are grayed out.  For instance, on the transformation docker, you cannot see size, position, etc.  However, if I can remember where they were, they do work if I click that area.  On the flyout for the outline pen, the style and arrow ends are missing.  And just try to find small caps on the character docker.  It really has me stumped because it will be fine one day -- I’ll close the file and exit the program, and when I open the program the next day, they are grayed out again.  My solution has been to reinstall when it annoys me enough, but that is a real hassle.  And so is the F8 solution, plus as I remember, it didn’t fix the problem.

    Can anyone help?

I've seen this on my own system. rebooting clered it out. Also ensure your video card is set to 32 bit output.
