Remove white background from black & white logo

I have re-created a logo for a client that is black and white and the outer border is an oval. Obviously there is a white rectangular bounding box around the oval. When converting it to a web usable format how do I get rid of the white rectangle, since making white transparent also gets rid of the white fill on the inside of the logo? If I convert it to a bitmap in CorelDraw and choose transparent background it is fine in PP but the minute I try to export it as a gif or png the bounding box is there.

Use CTRL M to create a mask from the object prior to exporting.

Draw outlines around the object and send the object into this outlined object with the help of powerclip tool.
