    NNTP access to the forums

    Hello all,

for those who prefer to use a newsgroup reader to access forums instead of a web interface, we've configured it... simply configure your favorite NNTP client (such as Outlook Express on Windows XP or Windows Mail on Vista) and add a newsgroup account. The server name is coreldraw.com and your username will be my_username@coreldraw. The password is the same as the one you use on this site.

The full instructions are available under http://coreldraw.com/forums/nntp.aspx.

    Enjoy.

Gerard, for a little while the UTF-8 thing was working in Mozilla
newsreader to get your name right. It isn't any more. I've still got
everything configured to use UTF-8 as default, but I'm still getting
    scrambled names and other things.
Also, for a while, the emoticons were coming in as images, but now
they're coming in as HTML code links. All very strange. Don't know if
it's something that changed on that end or if something inadvertently
    got changed over here.

I've had it "flipping back and forth" for a while today as well (using OE)

I am not aware of any changes on the NNTP server in the past few days from the server side, but I'll check. The Emoticons are actually images stored on the server and not sent to the OE or Thunderbird. Not sure why these wouldn't show... do you have a new version of your firewall software?

Re: NNTP access to the forums

Sorry for the delay in answering. (Hubby had gallbladder surgery Friday and I started a new job today. Been a bit busy.) I don't THINK I've got a new version, but it's set to update automatically so it could very well be. I'll have to see how things go this week and I'll let you know. I really need to find the time to update my browser/email/newsreader. Sigh. Smile Val P.
