Color adjustment bug in PHOTO-PAINT X6

Using X6 trial, I found that adjustment of selected colors (Adjust/Selective Color) in PHOTO-PAINT works very strangely. Mainly it applies to images in CMYK color mode.

For example, I have picture that contains Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue and Magenta color samples in CMYK mode.

1. Moving sliders in Reds spectrum affects on Blue sample, but not on Red.

2. Moving sliders in Yellows spectrum affects on Cyan sample, but not on Yellow

... And the same problems with Cyans and Blues .

5. Greens spectrum works correctly.

6. In Magentas spectrum, sliders really affect on Magenta sample, but they are working in inverse mode – moving Magenta slider toward ‘+’ direction removes magenta from sample while moving Cyan slider toward ‘-‘ adds cyan to it (if I do it in Absolute mode), etc.

For RGB colors, adjustment works almost correctly. Excluding Magentas. Here are the same problems as in CMYK.

All these problems are present in DRAW as well as in PHOTO-PAINT.

I tried to do the same in X5, and found out that there this function also does not work properly. In X3 this part of color correction have no these errors.

Finally I’m wondering – Is this the known issue? It seems very strange that so far no one paid attention to it.

No Preview Pane on Open

I use Corel Draw x6 running Vista Home Premium. In Windows Explorer, I've never been able to view CDR images as anything but icons. After reading a few forum posts, I experimented with changing the file associations to Windows Photo Gallery and then back again to CD x6. This didn't change the situation.

I've also run into a problem in Tools, Options, Global, Filters, associate. Associations with CDR and WMF won't stay. I check them, but the next time I open Filters, they are unchecked.

I just want to see a thumbnail of a CDR or WMF file before I open it in Corel Draw. I don't even have a preview pane in the open screen. Am I supposed to have a preview pane? All I have is File Name and File Format Type.

Any help would be appreciated.

Need help installing 32-bit after installing 64-bit using Online Subscription

I am so new to Corel! With that said, I purchased the Premium Subscription Membership and loaded the 64-bit version. After doing so, I realized none of the macros I had previously purchased worked with the 64-bit version. How can I uninstall the 64-bit and re-install the 32-bit with out losing my subscription access?

I brought box-version of the "CorelDRAW X6 Small Business edition" for my co-workers. It includes 3 serial numbers. What is the better choice for using this package?

1) Create 1 Сorel account and register all 3 serial numbers with it? Can 3 users login simultaneously within their CorelDRAW?

2) Create 3 Corel accounts: one per serial numbers?

In Object Style, when I create a new Paragraph Style, the Tabs unit are always set in « mm » !

I want to use « pica » or « point » but I don't know how or where to change it !

I am able to change the Tab measurement unit in « Object Properties » or « Text Properties » menus, but not in the « Objects Style » menu.

Am I missing something ? Is this situation a « bug » ?

Difference between Painter, PhotoPaint & PaintShop?

Who can concisely tell me the differences from a tool/workflow standpoint?

Reason for this question is I'm thinking of dropping the $60 on PaintShop just to get the warp brush...

Will Corel6 (or later) ever be able to export to a web page directly since the HTLM export doesn't work (drops links). The Corel Web program, or what ever its name is, was a joke. Its amazing that Corel work puts its name on a program that you could not open a CorelDraw file.

My current work around is to export to a JPG and then import that into dreamweaver and add the links there, then post. A pain but it works.

I'm currently using X6 in pixel view & working in an area of between 100 & 200 pixels, using 1 pixel wide lines ...it's very blurry & sometimes 1 line shows as 2! ...anything i can do to make it clearer?

Node Alignment in X6

A few months ago I upgraded my aging office workstation to a powerful new system running Windows 8 Professional. CorelDRAW X5 refused to install under Win 8 Pro so I had to upgrade to CorelDRAW X6.

Here's the issue: for the longest time, at least through 10 or more versions of CorelDRAW, it was very easy to align nodes. Just use the shape tool, manually shift+click nodes into the selection and the last node selected would stay locked in place. The other nodes would use the last node selected as the point of reference and align to it.

That doesn't work anymore in CorelDRAW X6.

Now, it doesn't matter which points were clicked first or last. The alignment function always uses the earliest point created in the path as the reference point. And that's just downright useless. I'm forced to drag out guides and snap the points to them -like I'm using an app released in 1990. It makes tasks like technical drawing more time consuming.

Is there some setting buried in Preferences that can restore this very basic but extremely valuable function?

BTW, rival app Adobe Illustrator had finally added controlled anchor point alignment in version CS3 or CS4 (I forget which), but it was a kludge to use -it required extra clicks on anchor points and wouldn't work half the time. The feature seems to be gone in CS6.

Using the Expired Coreldraw Trial as Viewer

In the past I have installed the CorelDraw Suite trial for users that need only to occasionally view .cdr files.
We have a printing facility where we have 8 designers that edit and convert artwork, they have full licenses. But the salespeople don't edit artwork. they only need to view it sometimes when discussing orders with the customer

Now Lately the Corel License has changed stating that after the trial expires you need to purchase a full license or uninstall immediately. and its not allowed to use a trial for professional purposes

my questions are:

- is it really not allowed anymore to use an expired trial as viewer?
- is viewing cdr files (in a company) considered a professional purpose.

This hotfix addresses the following critical issues reported by customers. The hotfix can only be applied to software already updated to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6.3 (16.3.0.1114):

When you export files to EPS with the Selected onlyoption enabled, multiple pages are created in the exported file.
CorelDRAW stops responding when you skew linked groups together with other selected objects.
Some effects cannot be applied to vector objects.
The Alt key cannot be used for drawing arcs with thePolyline tool in a customized workspace that contains custom keyboard shortcuts.
CorelDRAW stops responding when opening files that contain cloned text.
Some files print additional blank plates.
When you work with text in Corel PHOTO-PAINT, theText anti-aliasing control reverts to Soft.

Im getting this error saying parameter index is out of range. Help? This is a contour code assigned to a button for a work macro im making for easy access. My other buttons work well :) Thanks to John's little Tutorials.

Baseline grid not visible

Hello all, I'm a first time contributor to this form. I've used CorelDraw for a couple of years manly for simple newsletters and flyers. My question is concerning the visibility, or in my case, the non-visibility of the baseline grid. First of all my equipment is as follows: Dell Inspiron 620, i5-2320 @3.00 GHz, 8gb Ram 64bit windows 7 home premium with all current updates. I'm using a education version of x6 suite and it's updated to version 16.3.0.1114.

These are the steps I've taken: I created a rectangle within the document and using the layout toolbar I clicked "convert the object to a text frame". With the text box active, I clicked view/grid/baseline grid, but alas, no baseline grid is visible within the text box.

Please let me know if I omitted any important information describing this issue. I attempted to search the forums for an answer, so if I missed the thread, les pido mil disculpes......overlook this newb.

Corel X6 Slow to open and save files across network

I have recently installed Corel X6 and have found it to be painfully slow when opening files. At first I had thought it might be a network issue so I copied the file to a local drive and experienced the same problem.

The file is only 819Kb but it takes about 3 minutes to open the file. When I first select the file in the File Open dialogue window Corel just hangs for about 1 minute. It finally responds then takes a further 2 minutes to process and open the file.

I have turned off my antivirus software as I thought this might be a file scanning issue but still the same result.

This is frustrating and I welcome any positive solutions.

Reduce TO 10% Macro Code?

I feel needy asking about these, but they truely are helpful and I know very little about coding.

Most imported designs are 100%. I'd like a code that at a push of a button reduced to 10% or any other setting i can change it to. Reason being, we all use different scale modes and sometimes artwork is huge. I need to shrink it down.

Is this possible w/o manually typing in the values?

How to export page as jpg?

I would like to export a page I am creating as a jpg. Right now, I have one object on the page, and its a .jpg object. When I export from the File menu, only the jpg is exported. How can I export the entire page? If I add text to the object (which will be a banner). it only exports the jpg, and and the exact space required by the text, not the entire page. I have been unable to find setting for exporting selected objects or entire page. I have another less powerful drawing program that gives options to export object, selection, or page.

If I create a box, and place it on the document, the whole thing will export, but if the pox is larger than the page, then entire box is still exported, where I only want the page dimensions exported so I can eventually arrange objects ont he box that will overlap the page dimesnsions, but only the page area should be exported as a jpg.

Should I be doing this as a powerclip? I haven't used that feature yet in CD. Then export the powerclip object?

High CPU Usage in Photopaint X5/X6

Photopaint uses an absurd amount of CPU when drawing a line; the brush "lags" and stutters about the screen, too. My system CPU is a Core i7-2600k, and all 8 threads are maxed during the drawing of the line. Why would this be?

Corel Price is a fraud in india

I check offical corel x6 suite price on amazon which is $80 for 3 users which technically means - Rs 4000

The same in India is at Rs 1,20,000 as informed by the corel guys to me. Whats going on ?

You think indian design people are too rich or you guys are working in an arm twisting business as you know corel is the need of business in india so lets LOOT them ?

This is extremely ridiculous of you guys to first threaten that people are using unoffical softwares and then ask them to buy at 300 times the price you sell it in other countries !!!

If there is someone more responsible in your organisation to answer this please come ahead and solve this issue. If you hike the price of your software by 300 times no one is going to purchase it. You want people to work legally then please make it affordable. You can double the price or triple it. But 300 times ?

Hello everyone one! I'm new here so please be gentle with me. I'm not sure if this is where I need to post this or not. I've been reading from a search in "Google" and ran upon this post from about 5 years ago http://coreldraw.com/forums/t/5771.aspx. I need directions as to how to get that blue & white fill to follow that "S". I've tried to go by the article but am lost. I've used Corel Draw since version 8 but have not gotten in as deep as I need to get. That "S" fill by Sally is awesome!. Is there someone on here that could post a step by step on how to do that? Oh and I am aware of a user by the name of Jeff Harrison...I have bought from him before...Hey Jeff...waiting on a reply from you for a macro.
