I'm wondering if anybody else has seen this? I purchased a new Logitech G5 laser mouse (v2, the blue one) and downloaded and installed the latest SetPoint software to go with it.

Now in DRAW! x3, the mouse works great and being able to change the dpi to 3 different "speeds" is great BUT, if I use the tilt wheel to scroll horizontally, the next action after that, be it to click a tool bar or unselect an object, everything disappears! I'm left with just the page border. Switching to wireframe still shows nothing.

DRAW! continutes to work normally, I just can't see anything. If I save my work, close the program and open the file again, everything is fine unless I happen to forget and use the mouse wheel to scroll horizontally.I was working on an important ad the first time this happened and I freaked out. I then set about testing and duplicating the problem with one simple big rectangle.

I've been using Logitech mooses with the tilt wheel for horizontal scrolling since they were invented, use CorelDRAW! every day and never had a bit of problem. It is a hard habit to break so I've just taken to clobbering SetPoint with task manager before trying to work but man, I miss my horizontal mouse scrolling.

I also posted in Logitech support forums so maybe I'll get some answers there? CorelDRAW! is the only application having any problem with the horizontal scrolling and I'm guessing it's video related somehow?

Thanks! I'd feel better if someone else had this problem. Wink

ps

User since version 2.0! Specs: Phenom 9650, 3Gb RAM, XP Pro SP3, Nvidia 8800gts driver v181.20, Logitech G5 Laser mouse v.2

Update! I loaded a large image in Photo Paint and tried to horizontal scroll with the tilt wheel. The horizontal scroll bar moves left and right but the image does not scroll! I did the same thing in Photoshop and the scrollbar AND the image move as expected. Strange!

Since nobody else has replied to this problem, consider yourself lucky to not have had to deal with it.

Logitech's support has been responsive in dealing with this issue and as a temporary workaround, had me revert to an older version of their SetPoint software that has its own known issues. Fortunately for me, horizontal scrolling in X3 isn't one of them. Wink

To summarize, Logitech's latest and greatest mouse driver, SetPoint v.4.72, does not work correctly with X3. At their suggestion, I have reverted to v.4.60 and applied a workaround to the broken automatic update feature in this version. I will post a reply here if and when they release a new version that works.

Thank you for updating this with a work around. Did you have a chance to try it with X4?

I know there where some problems related to mouse drivers in the past, but these where mainly with trackpads in laptops. I know we did some changes in X4 to better support these trackpads, and I am wondering if this would also address what you are experiencing with SetPoint?

Thank you, Gérard, for your response.

Unfortunately, I am not using X4, it's my "skip" version. Embarrassed Logitech's new SetPoint 4.72 works with a variety of their recent products and I would have thought when posting here, that certainly someone else would have had this problem? Spending some time browsing Logitech's support forum, it seems that this driver version does have a lot of complaints but apparently, I'm just lucky enough to have the right combination of O/S and video driver, etc., to be affected by this strange problem. (I posted specs in first post but omitted CD version - 13.0.0.739)

The older (4.60) driver is working perfectly but is missing the setting that allows the horizontal scroll rate to be changed. My guess is that the coding for this element of the driver is where the trouble arises? Fortunately, the default speed works well for me. With things back to normal, I was up late working on a graphic until 2:00am (and watching F1 qualifying) and realized just how often I use the tilt wheel to scroll horizontally and how much of an automatic part of the way I work it has become. I did fully document this issue with Logitech support so maybe they'll figure it out on their end?

Thanks, again.

Have same problem with Logitech mouses - "MX Revolution" and "Anywhere MX". Something incompatible in new version SetPoint. Resolve this problem by downgrade SetPoint.  How to work with new driver sill an issue... Logitech not react on problem.

Same Problem with Corel Draw X4! (Windows 7, 64 bit). Seems to be independent of the mouse type...setpoint is the problem.

Downgrade to setpoint 460 was successfull (Vers. 4.60.122). This version also supports changing the velocity of horizontal scrolling.

Hello,

I have the same Problem with Corel Draw X3. I have a Logitech Mouse and use the SetPoint Driver. When I scroll up and down, nothing happens.
Than when I scroll right or left and them up and down, all Graphics disappear. I can see the Groups at the Property Manager and makiem than but I dont can see anything.
I use Windows Vista and Corel Draw X3.

Can I make anything to troubleshoot it?

Best Regards,
Spawnsen

I found only solution - downgrade SetPoint.

But old driver work not attractive and always ask for an upgrade.

So... I use and recommend The Microsoft® Explorer Mini Mouse

Not have all the futures as Logitech Mouse, but not freeze on this problem.

Have anyone tested the Problem at Corel Draw X5?

I get clear answer from Logitech Customer Service - COREL NOT SUPPORT LOGITECH - Thats it!

I have the same problem with x5 and my logitech mouse.

I've found that a quick fix to refresh my screen while in CorelDraw and make everything visible again is to move the vertical scroll bar up and down.  This refreshes the screen and I can continue to work.

Has anyone found a way to use the logitech mice with CD?  I'm in x5, 64bit.
