SAVING DEFAULTS for rulers in Photo-Paint X3

I frequently use rulers and don't want the default subdivisions of 440 sesquifeet per furlong, or whatever it is.

Since rulers "belong" to document settings, and hence are apparently outside of  the scope of "workspace", I can find no mechanism to save my desired default (Unlike DRAW with the "save as default" in Tools).

Can anyone advise if there is a mechanism to do this? If need be, I'm perfectly willing to edit configuration files, the registry, etc. I just really hate having to manually set up things like this time after time.
