Hi,

I am just a newbee here. Started using Corel photo paint recently. I have a basic doubt. For the 1st time, when I create a new file, it opens witha blank rectangular layout, where need to draw the image. My problem is, thelayout appears to be a vertically alligned rectangular, whereas I prefer my picture wil look good if horizontally aligned. How to change this setting ? It's something like changing from potrait setting to landscape setting, what we do in print preference.

Also, the lay out open is not big enough in size, for mypurpose. Is there any way I can increase the size of this rectangular area, so that I can accomodate all of my picture contents in the frame ?

Thanks a lot,

Bab

When you click on New (Ctrl+N) you should see "Create a new image" dialog - set up your "page" the way you need it.

Or you can always adjust existing paper size at Image / paper Size. If you have something drawn on your paper, it might be better to use Image / Resample option.

When you click on File>New (or the toolbar shortcut for this) you are offered a dialog box where you can enter the exact dimensions and resolution you require. The dimensions you enter will determine both the size and the orientation of your new image.

If you create a new image in portrait mode and want it to be landscape mode, then simply click on  Image>Rotate>90 deg clockwise or counter-clockwise. If you have content in your image already then it will be rotated 90 deg using this method, which may not be what you want. You mention making the area big enough to accomodate all of your picture contents in the frame: are you pasting other images into a new image, or what is your intention? If you simply want to open an existing image then there is no need to create a new image to place it into - just go right ahead and OPEN the exisiting image.
