Bugs in PhotoPaintx4

Hi, I am becoming frustrated.

1. I can't change the color of any object.

2. I can't change the object's transparency (the tool draws black squares as I move across the page and doesn't make the object transparent in correct way).

3.  Can't copy and paste anything at all (it tells me that selection is empty)

4. Paint tool draws shapes about 1 inch from where I click. On 1 click it creates a bunch of these shapes around.

I have tried to open a new blank document and tested if it works. For about 3 minutes it works fine, then it does the same thing as I mentioned.

I really can't work like this.

Do you have any idea how to fix this?

Any chance you aren't on the correct object layer?

As Joan says check if you are on the correct object layer. If it still happens, then I suspect worspace corruption.

Solution : Keep 'F8' Key pressed while launching PP and select 'Yes' to reset the workspace to factory defaults. Good luck.

*** Which tool are you referring to? I assume you mean the Interactive Transparency Tool or the Transparency Brush.

*** Are you just pasting (as in creating a new object), or are you trying to paste into a selection?

*** You may want to try resetting all brushes - please refer to the thread "Clone Tool using Windows System 7" as I pasted the instructions there for resetting all brush types.

Sorry that I have asked you questions rather than answering yours, but without proper details of what you are actually doing it is very difficult to offer solutions.
