How do I achieve the worn, grainy look around the edge of the above photo?

Thanks all,

Ben

You could try playing around in Effects/Creative/Frame. There are lots
more free ones on the net to add to the collection Corel gives.
have fun!

Very helpful thank you.

I have only one frame pre-saved in the Corel collection so I shall have to look on the net however I am having trouble trying to locate these.  Upon searching for these I am presentated with a million photo/picture frame type frames bhut not those that will actually altyer the edges of the photo.

Can anybody help me locate these?

Thanks very much,

Ben

it is depending on what version you have of the corel draw, do you have the educational version or the full retail version.

Hi

I have the full version of both Photo Paint and Draw.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

One effect that may work is to take the image into Corel PHOTO PAINT; click the Paint Tool icon on your Tool Bar; select Power Sprayer and the color white and experiment with passing a border along the outer edges of the photo (set your spray at about 50 -- and don't linger too long at any one spot or it becomes thick (just like a real spray can would do).

I just tried it to see if it would work and surprised myself.  Surprise

Let not the one who says it can't be done interrupt the one who is doing it.

You can create your own Frame to use under Effects>Creative>Frames. This is stored in the Program Files/Corel/CorelGraphicsSuite X4/Custom Data. It's just a cpt file done in black and white.

Here is my Frame file on the left and a picture I framed with it.

I think the best textures always come from starting real textures.  Premade frames and textures are always difficult to force into my particular designs so I tend to always roll my own.  With skill, it tends to be faster than "finding" one.

Professional Color Separations.

In the Frame dialog box, on the Select tab, use the little pulldown
arrow in the window on the left side. In PhotoPaint X3, there are 17 to
choose from.
