I have CorelDraw 9 version 9.337.  I want to update via service pack 1 to build 397 and then to service pack 2 to build 439. My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate. When I try to run update GR9SP1EN.EXE (service pack 1) or GR9P2EN.EXE (service pack 2) I am told that:  This service pack is intended for the english release of CorelDraw 9 suite and Corel PHOTO PAINT 9 stand alone build 337 and it does not install the service pack.  What am I doing wrong, why can't I get these service packs to install? My anti virus and Windows firewall are both off when I try the install.

I had the same problem 8 years ago when I was upgrading to Windows XP. I had to rebuild the machine again an I forgot what I did to fix it. I finally found the answer again here http://kb.corel.com/scripts/texis.exe/kb/kb/+NwxFqr+X_vX9anQmwwwwoUzexVbdqUgwDDdBafD5BwccaInGVoqna7wqA5auDmnGaboDmdi5a+XXX/details.html

There is a time stamping issue from the CD file system that occured after Windows 98. Microsoft changed how it was done. The work around is to just change your time zone to Perth (+8:00 GMT) and change the system data to some date in 1999 and it will install. You want to do both patches in a row and don't start Corel until you have patched it. I hope this helps. It works for windows xp I don't know about Vista or Windows 7. You and reset you time after you apply the patches.

Good Luck.

Do you need the updates?... or is everything working fine for you as is?... don't fix what ain't broke for you, even if it's broke for somebody else or you think you must be broke because the SP's aren't installed.

Having said that...

CD9 was not designed to work in W7. You would probably have to run in Windows 98 emulation mode through W7 even if you did manage to get the SP's  installed... which is unlikely in and of itself. Your time and by extension dollars would be much better invested in CD X4.
