Changing the color of an object....its a .png

Ok, so this has to be the easiest thing in the world - but as it stands I cant figure it out !!

I have a .png file. It is a black flourish and I want it to be white or teal.

How can I change the color of this object ?

 

 

 

Open the image in PhotoPaint and use Adjust>Replace Colors. Replace black (Old color) with whatever color you like (New color).

Import your file (.png) to CorelDRAW and convert it to Bitmap > Black and White. After that go to BITMAP>OUTLINE TRACE>DETAILED LOGO. When POWER trace is opened, choose "Remove Back Ground" (in Options tab) and click OK.

Back to CorelDRAW apply color to object as you wish.

 

Thanks, I tried this but the centre stayed white ?

I was able to open it in Adobe Photoshop and make it white. However now I dont know how to get it from there to Corel. When I am in IMPORT in Corel and search for my new saved .jpg the file isnt there ?

If you are gong to trace it, then when you have the Trace dialog open, be sure to have a checkmark beside the box for 'Remove color from entire image' under the Remove Background heading.

But Patti's method is faster and probably the one that you want to use, to be able to keep the image as a bitmap (*.png, *.jpg, etc.)

 

Your file keeps  background white if you do not choose "Remove back ground". But even if you do not use this option, after bringing it back to the CorelDRAW (already converted), you can ungroup it (Ctrl+U) and delete the background (or keep it as your need).

BTW,  you can do the Replace color thing in CorelDraw as well. Effects>Adjust>Replace Colors. These are image adjustments "borrowed" from Photo-Paint. You don't need to use Photoshop at all!

Another easy way to do the same thing... import your image into Draw.
Select your image and go to BITMAPS - CONVERT TO BITMAP. Change the
resolution to 600 DPI. Change the color mode to Black and White (1 bit).
Click OK.

Now you select your converted bitmap and click the NO COLOR well from
your color palette. This will take away the background. Right click a
color from your palette (the same action you use to apply an outline
color) and the flourish will change to that color. This can be done to
all monochrome bitmaps. The only cavaet is not all bitmaps are going to
convert to a monochrome bitmap as well as this one does. Have fun.
