Opening files saved in x4 draw now have a blue tinted background surface when opened in x5. Newly created files don’t have this issue. What gives and how to fix?

This may be a result of the Gamma adjustment on your monitor. Which version of Windows are you running and what is your video hardware interface (NVidia, Intel, ATI, etc.)?

My OS is Vista Business and Ati interface

I do not remember if Vista has a "color calibration (Gamma adjustment)" built in Win Vista, or not. Anyway, there are gamma adjustment web pages out there, that can help you make these adjustments.

Also, make sure you have a very recent driver for your video interface chip set.

HI.

Sounds like CM settings in x4 are clashing with x5's.

Maybe a CM expert will chime in.

I have files from 11, X3, X4 and X5. None of these have any tint when I open them in X5. This is on a machine running Win 7 Pro, with an ATI Radeon 4550.

When I first set up that machine, I did have to make adjustments for gamma correctness, when I first put Win 7 on that machine. Previously, it was running Win XP Pro and did not have to do anything about the display. But when I put Win 7 in place of XP, I had to make the adjustments.

The only other thing that comes to mind, is check the Color Management settings in your X5, as the whole color management section was revamped from scratch. You may need to examine that. Here is mine for reference.

Thats the same settings I have Hugh, For now I just made a new file for the project I'm working on so it doesnt drive me nuts. Just 9 pages of copy and past and all is well but I have dozens of other files that could come back up if needed. I'll fool around with the gamma settings again later.

Can you please post screen captures of your X4 color management settings?

Also do you work on a laptop?

What are your system specs?
