when I select file open, how do I set the default to go to my work directory?

If I recall correctly, if you "Save As..." a file to a directory, that should be the directory that CorelDRAW will open at when you click on Open file.....

Hello Hugh; I have X4 and it doesn't take you to the the same place twice, but It may not be CorelDraw's falt it could be Vista with a Acer memory watcher.

What does the Memory Watcher do, other than take up resources?

Hello Hugh; thats what it does best  and I have so many ( In Door Plumbing ) HaHa. Its a toy to see whats using what.

That might change depending on last used folder...

I've found many users often have their working files in 1 or more fixed locations.

That's why I made the commercial hotfolders macro to speed up the process of finding and loading art files from favorite locations. Once locations are set, then you just press one icon on toolbar to open that folder.
