Hi All
I've recently set up a new PC Windows 7 Pro 64bit and can not get the proper drivers for one of the laser engravers i use.
I've set up a Virtual Machine in XP mode 32bit to get past this and tho it works, i find that i can't always copy and past the artwork from Corel X4 on the PC to Corel X4 on the VM. I can save the job copy and past to the VM desktop and open that but not directly from the page.
It's not a major issue i just like to copy the artwork out of one page and past int the save page for that machine.
Thanks Pep
Hi.
You could record a simple macro the saves or exports the file to the same location everytime, like the desktop, with a simple name like "1" or "temp"
Then just drag and drop the file in.

WinXP, running in the VM, can read/write the 'host' drive(s), as well as its own 'drive'. In other words, you can do your work in Corel X5 from either Win 7 or WinXP and save it to one common accessible drive (usually the one running under Win 7).
In WinXP, open the Windows Explorer and see if the main Win 7 drive is visible. If it is not, you may have to close WinXP and make some option adjustments to the Virtual Machine and then restart WinXP.

Sounds like you have installed CorelDRAW X4 on you windows 7 operating system.
You should install on you Virtual Machine and run it from that instead of Windows 7.
Have you contacted the manufacturer of the hardware to see if there are Windows 7 drivers?

Yes i've installed X4 on both the VM (XP Mode) and the normal pc
The reason i need VM is to run one laser in 32bit mode as the drivers for it are not availabe in64bit.
I lay the job out in the normal PC and if i need that laser i save and re-open in VM, what i was hopeing
was to simply Copy then Past the contents of one machin to the VM without saving moving reopening.
I have done it a few times but it's not consistent.
Thanks Hugh that's pretty much the way i am doing it
Thanks Adrian, the problem is not the Windows drivers it's the 64bit thats the problem
